That's right... the most iconic music intro of ALL TIME turned 15 today!

What are your memories of this track? How does it hold up for you? Were you always a fan? Never a fan? Grew to like it?

Any thoughts on the video? How about THAT VMAs performance?

That opening line is legendary. It really might be my favourite musical moment ever made. Just iconic.

I remember falling in love INSTANTLY with it. It was addictive, catchy and the production flawed me... and I never really cared *that* much for "production" at the time. Absolutely flawless song and one of the greatest songs ever recorded, imo. Top 5 favourite ever for me.

2007 being 15 years ago is terrifying  that thought entered my mind recently when reflecting on Girls Aloud's 'Tangled Up' era and now I can't believe it's been so long since the 'Blackout' era was beginning as well. I remember instantly taking to 'Gimme More', similar to you Jonjo I found it really addictive - both Britney's commanding presence from that very first line onwards and the dark, pulsating production. It has held up really well for me too <3 I'd say to the point where it is still in my top 3 Britney singles alongside 'Toxic' and 'Everytime'.

The VMAs performance passed me by at the time (although I do recall the news reports of the head shaving day very well and subsequent discussion in real life) and I'm pretty sure I wasn't totally educated on it until Glee's second Britney tribute episode :kink: it's sad to watch, but I'd say even that 'disaster' performance is overshadowed by her greater moments there like the 'Slave' performance, her legacy is more of a VMAs legend, which is testament to her star power.

I have a soft spot for the 'Gimme More' video even if not technically her most impressive or anything, I just think it suits the vibe of the song well!

ICONIC.

Loved it from the first time I heard it and still do. It is EVERYTHING.

I feel like the music video suits the song so much, it looks like Britney was enjoying herself, I hope we get the original music video one day.

I feel like i'd always been a massive fan of Britney but 2007 was the time I became a stan.

The video is really underrated I think lmao. I completely agree in that it wasn't technically the most impressive she ever did, but the imagery and the carefree delivery of the video is iconic. Right from the opening club moment down the pole dancing through to the iconic looks served throughout. It was grungy, dark and sexy. Complimented the song very well!

I distinctly remember being on a holiday in Spain and going down to the internet café in the hotel with my headphones to listen to the leak of it.

It's her best song ever for me, I just love it so much. That bassline.

I can remember hearing this for the first time. It was on a Friday night and I was at the football and my team was losing so I changed radio stations from listening to the game to one of the music stations and this came on.
