It makes sense: Melanie has festivals and probably some solo performances planned for next year + a new music project. Geri is going to be busy with books and movies. Victoria with her fashion (kisses xx VB), Mel B with television possibly, Emma I don’t know.

But… I have a feeling we’re gonna get at least a one-off performance with all 5 of them.

Interesting decision if things don't happen with them as a group until 2024.

To be honest the prospect of a reunion has been a bit up in the air recently... it's beginning to feel like they're not imminently going to do something, like there isn't any concrete plans yet.

It does seem from Geri and Melanie C's already confirmed commitments in 2023 that it could end up being another solo focused year. Geri's upcoming projects strike me as things that'll really consume her time, not stuff she'd balance with Spice Girls. I guess we'll see, but when it comes time to her to promote her children's books, I'm sure she'll 100% be in author mode.

If they waited until 2024, maybe they'd give it the angle of "30 years of the Spice Girls" (from the year of formation)

On reflection I don't think I'll be too disappointed if 2023 doesn't end up being a year of Spice Girls. Maybe we could do with a bit of distance from Spice 25 and Spiceworld 25 so we can get a lot more excited about the idea of them performing that same old music again. I also really need to save up. :kink:

Urgh... I couldn't care less for another year of mediocre solo projects, sorry... -_- I'm tired...

I did think that there were some nice indicators that something might be in the works. But when Mel C said to Attitude that there was nothing on sale yet cos she is insisting on going South East Asia and South America, that trouble was ahead. Then the solo gig news came up and the news of Geri's books and movie role (which have already gone down like a damp sock anyway...) and basically, that's it, isn't it...

How boring.

The only thing I would care about is if Emma does an album or a proper tour. Apart from that, call me when the group is reuniting...

There's part of me that thinks they just fuel these reunion tour rumors...cause various shows/outlets will be more likely to book them when it's time to push a solo project. Interviewers will entertain you coming on with your book or whatever...so long as you get the audience riled up with reunion talk (...whether there's much intention to actually do it or not). Wasn't that kind of the strategy in 2001? Make it sound like there are Spice things on the horizon...to help sell the solo projects? I'll never forget Mel B claiming they might continue releasing Forever singles in 2002. (?!)

I don't know. It might not be that bleak. I also find it rather likely that three of them would legitimately get back on stage...but Geri's the holdout. She clearly wasn't completely comfortable up there at times in 2019. Who knows what the situation is now. Her confidence for performing seems to have taken a lot of hits.

It is 2023 or bust in my eyes. The more the can gets kicked down the road the less likely it will happen.

I don't think Mel C adding the odd festivals means a lot as she would do that in between legs and even dates. Had Australia 2020 happened as planned she would still have been off straight after Wembley to do the pride tour. In 2007 she was playing clubs on the off days in the US and Canada.

I'm not saying it will happen 100% next year but I'd be more shocked if she wasn't booking in solo gigs and dates around a potential tour or Glastonbury.

No tour and (from what we know) no new music, so what the f*** is the point anymore?

Let me guess, another batch of pointless nostalgia-driven merch?... how boring are they honestly?....

There you go huns, 'we're not going on tour' kind of seals it for me. I will be interested again when they do go on tour or release a new album or single. Until then, im just bored of them now...

'Who knows whats around the corner' says Emma. More video-games ads? More tshirts?...

She is hardly going to reveal "Yes! We are going back on tour!" on some random Dubai radio show, don't you think? Even in 2018 they never revealed their plans before making the official announcement. :coffee:

Sorry but this is a definitive 'No' for me. We knew things were brewing in the background in 2018 and they never flat out deny it when they have things coming. This is a very definite no.

Just give us “WOMAN” and call it a day. I’m bored of these girls.
I’m glad I went to SW19 stadium shows because I knew one could never expect them to do it ever again.

I think Emma's recent 'no tour but other things' comments kind of settles this for me, to be honest. It is very obvious they dont have a single qualm about being vague about a reunion or shows or whatever as it keeps them individual projects alive and they can go to do the press rounds with this to promote their solo projects.

Dispiriting and disrespectful that this is where we are at with them.

Same and honestly Geri finally playing Wembley Stadium felt like closure and it was joyous.

Glastonbury would be the big thing to finish with.

Such a shame that one of the world's most important music group, that could sell out any Stadium tour or have genuine interest in new music the world over, are so adverse to actually working on music.

Pissing me off today, honestly...

Just bring on Glastonbury and get WOMAN to leak, and leave us be if this is the constant circus we are feed...

She had denied going on tour a few months before it was announced. Skip to the 3:30 mark:

'A few shows would be nice' (which is what happened) is not 'no tour', sorry.

The girls can't even commit to a proper world tour. Madonna did 75 shows over the course of 6 months on her last tour. Kylie Minogue did 33 shows on her Golden tour in late 2018/early 2019.

What kind of comparison is that?

Madonna & Kylie are a one woman show.

With the Spice Girls, all 5/4 girls need to be on the same page at the same time. It's quite clear than not all of the girls are eager to commit to a world tour.

Perfect valid comparison in terms of 'women with families touring' type of excuse they always throw around to be honest.. Madonna's tours are HUGE, bigger than the Spice Girls, and involve many many more people traveling around the world.

Oh and when you say 'not all of the girls' you can just say Geri, everyone knows she is the stumbling block to go on a world tour at all  The other three have been very clear that they would love to.
