I didn't want him to do it, he's more of a rock person. I wanted Sam and Danni or Katie Thistleton instead.

I mean we've only heard him covering it a small handful of times but he did a perfectly good job I thought.
Give the guy a chance jesus christ. He's only covered for Scott a handful of times and today should've been his first proper show which couldn't go ahead. He literally hasn't even had a chance to get going and put his stamp on it.
I think he did a good job when he covered for Scott those few times (more than good even - I definitely thought he had the makings of a good chart presenter when I was listening to him)
Don’t people remember the low days of Jamelia Jameel? He’s perfectly fine

I'm showing my age here but Tommy Vance was a rock person but he was a very good presenter of the Top 40 back in the day.

I don’t get why being a ‘rock person’ effects his ability to do the chart?

He presented Glastonbury with Jo Wiley in June there too and did a good job. His communication skills are excellent which is important when doing a radio or tv show!

The things you come out with, I seriously wonder what goes on inside your head sometimes.

I think he's done a fantastic job so far, and he has good banter.

Whilst it's been a very long time - reckon it must be nearly 10 years - since I listened to the chart on Radio 1 last, he's only had the job five seconds, give him a break.

Besides, nothing will be as bad as when JK & Joel did it in the mid 00s, they were bloody awful, even accounting for the editorial decisions to try and make the chart relevant when CD singles had gone through the floorboards but downloads hadn't yet taken off, they basically talked over half the records played, and replaced the chart with inane crap like DVD charts and celebrity gossip.

I've heard Jack's 'Future Artists' show a couple of times and he comes across likeable and very passionate about music, as you'd hope, so I look forward to seeing what he does with the chart. The move to Friday has clashed with my work schedule for about 4 years now so I don't get to tune in all that much, but still.

They really were atrocious, not only as useful as a towel on the Titanic but completely unfunny and unlikeable. Jameela Jamil may have also been useless, but at least she had her comical moments.

Fearne and Reggie were way worse than JK & Joel (and Reggie on his own as well). They didn't care one bit about the charts, they legit made me switch to the Big Top 40 for a while x

I think they were aware of how they were perceived online, i seem to remember they hinted at it on their last chart show.

Paul Gambaccini on Pick of the Pops is the best charts presenter there is - maybe he should do it full time haha
Haha zero chance they’d ask Gambo unfortunately. Amazing that he’s still doing POTP considering his relationship with the BBC.
