Some kind if bliss does in some ways stand out among her singles as its less pop/dance than other singles but I'm always glad it was a single as I think it's great and she has many many other singles I like less.

^^ The lack of a CD2 certainly harmed or, it was released on 7” vinyl and limited to 4,000 - vinyl releases were not ‘cool’ back then though, although they now sell for £100+, I remember trawling the shops for low numbers - I ended up with #39 and #122.

Ha ha just looked and mine is 0042!

Great number :cheer: Some of much higher numbers sell for £80-100+ easily too.

Really, how much would 42 sell for do you think?

I played it at the time but not very often and not since 1997!

Looking at recent sold copies on eBay

Number 2169 - £85

Others sold for £70-80.

I think a ‘Top 50’ number in good condition would go for £120-130? Some copies were mis-pressed and have SKOB listed as both the A and B side and those ones sell for more.

Thank you…though doubt I’ll ever sell it or any others in my collection.

Spinning Around was the first Kylie song I ever heard, so I completely missed this a few years before when it was released (I was only 6 at the time of release and while I knew a lot of songs that were around back then on the music channels, I don't think this got a wide release over here) and I only heard this for a the first time a few years ago but I absolutely love it. Definitely a very different direction for her and can see why people where maybe a bit confused. At the same time, it's still pretty poppy and seems very radio friendly so the fact it only managed #22 is very unfortunate.

I think the issue is that there's no real "first single" on the album and to SKOB's credit I think it's probably what comes closest to it - as you said, it's very poppy and radio-friendly at least. It probably would've made the top twenty, if not 15, if it had at least had a CD2. It still would've been a failure, but maybe not the shocker of Kylie missing the top 20.

The other tracks that would work as singles - ie Breathe, Did It Again, Cowboy Style - doesn't have that first single quality either. I guess they didn't want to hold out to find a Confide In Me for the album.

Surely Too Far being track one and with all those commissioned mixes was meant to be the lead at some point….though Kylie did play a cassette of SKOB on TFI Friday way before release so who knows what the plan was.

I think it was planned for a single but not the lead single as i think it got a limited 12" release, shortly after breathe was released.

Kylie really did a great performance of it on the intimate and live tour, that version really elevates the song.
