Cassette singles definitely count towards the charts - they are not mentioned for album formats either yet 1,000s are released and reported to album sales weekly - it was such an obsolete format they are probably not mentioned (the same as Mini Discs which also count).

 

 

Oh I didn't realise the 3 format rule would still be in place! When it's such a free-for-all for number of formats in the album chart, ha.

Phew! That’s a relief. I assumed they would… but having studied the rules for years, I’m still finding new things I didn’t realise, or nuances I hadn’t understood.

 

I am sure BMG know the chart rules and what is eligible etc.

 

 

I think the problem with the charts in general the OCC are known to adapt when they feel like it.

New peak on Spotify! 40!

Though top 10 would’ve been great I’m over the moon she got to #12!

 

Why?

 

• Her biggest hit in years!

• It’s not a feature with a popular artist (no shade at Madonna btw).

• She’s climbing in week 3 (instead of falling).

• Not a short chart run.

• A silver or even golden certification is possible.

I’m wondering if being in the weekly top 50 is what has helped this? A while back the daily was what you see first on charts, h it now the weekly shows up first.

I am pretty sure it was the new 2 song release which gave the extra streams. Like I say out of curiosity fans will play the single and remix together and then mainstream will be streaming the song which is on playlists.

 

Will be good to see how many streams the extended version will get worldwide. I am thinking 45k worldwide and 7k in the UK
