Noticed another post from you saying we need to move onto second single! The point you are missing with those comparisons is that Kylie doesn’t have the support of a US market. On that basis it has achieved great success! It has yet to peak in many countries also.

In US terms, yes, there is a hyperbole around the song by those who write about it in the media. But we need not to forget that if you don't have the USA / Latin American market, your streams won't be that high. For example, a huge top-5 UK hit 'Dancing is Healing' by Rudimental, while being available since 21st of April of 2023, has accumulated 'only' 18m streams.

 

PP has properly took off in the 4 countries, and only UK of those is a big streaming market. So it's generating substantially for something that hasn't properly charted on Spotify in any other market. It's gonna be around 100m and 200m by mid-2025 at most. So 'Run Away With Me' analogy doesn't work that well too.

 

I mean, yes, it could have done even better, but I think BMG don't have the legs to properly promote it in more regional playlists due to less ties than the major labels etc - at the same time it didn't take off to the extent they couldn't ignore it WW completely (like Peggy Gou did).

 

Regardless, it has done amazingly well on Apple Music all over the world, it's a shame we don't have the figures out there.

12 is good, I can't see her been any lower than 14 on Friday.

Gosh on 21st we now have Britney & Will I am released, the Barbie Soundtrack + probably lots more. Lets hope the HAAi remix can grab a decent amount of downloads and hopefully a few streams to try and combat ACR, though it may be a toughie!

Popular is a song by the number 1 spotify artist in the world though hun and when Kylie released Padam padam she was outside the top 500.

 

I think if you are not that big in America it is much harder to gather the streams the weekend can muster hun.

 

Plus theres 20 years ish age gap between Kylie and the weekend hun and as we well know, the music industry is very ageist hun

I think if Kylie no chance of top 10 this week then they save everything for Friday release on Itunes and add an edit also on Friday on her website to download

 

It's also getting to the point where I am thinking single 2 maybe used soonish to maybe boost Padam streams also?

I miss the detailed daily updates :( They'd be particularly interesting to see now, because we'd get to see if Padam Padam is doing enough to avoid a week of decline, or not. We're in the dark!

 

I'd be very satisfied if it could stay Top 15 this week. Top 10 would have been fantastic but even with the #10 mids on Sunday and Monday it seemed clear that songs below her would catch up.

 

Let's make the Top 12 a thing. Let's keep it Top 12 for 7 consecutive weeks :w00t:

Honestly I'm content with whatever happens now. It's been a huge success and is still doing better than anybody could expect after two months. Get the last of the remixes or whatever out, give it one final push and then move on to single #2 before the album comes.

I loved seeing them - but these updates were not meant for the eyes of the public. ESPECIALLY when the Friday chart position was announced before the chart was on Radio 1 / OCC

I'm a bit like that too as it's success was such a great surprise, I'd love it to avoid acr for now just to prolong it so do the final push and then let it do what it can do by itself after that.
