It's crazy really how few platinum singles she has as some of her older singles were huge hits but the sales climate was low, songs like the loco motion on hand on your heart are songs that you would assume are easily platinum, spinning around and love at first sight are 2 you'd assume from the 00s.

I think also those songs' parent album sales more than made up for it!

Love that a 2024 Kylie release has achieved that - in the streaming era I never thought we’d see that in the UK or US.

It was definitely something I'll never forget/never quite believe was actually real!

This - but on the other hand it’s bizarre that she had 2 big hits from Tension and it’s likely to be her lowest selling BMG album, I guess it shows that hit singles don’t mean album sales (unless of course you release a Greatest Hits debut album like Becky Hill etc 😂)

Ya i do find that strange with Tension that its her lowest selling BMG album by a fair bit yet it yielded 2 of her most successful singles in years, i think the album promo wise suffered due to her been in the states so much. The days of hit singles selling albums just isnt a given any more, but in kylies case it seems odd that no major hit singles resulted in higher selling albums.

It kind of makes sense to me, for an album to have legs in the album chart now you need at least 3 sizeable streaming hits - something Kylie isn't going to realistically have, and also those who want to buy the album physically will mostly do so in the first week.

She's quite unlucky with the periods her biggest hits were released in. Streaming can help hits from the 2000s fix their under-certification if they're remembered well enough, but Kylie's still a pretty weak streamer unfortunately. Looking at her certification history and her current streaming numbers, I'm most optimistic about In Your Eyes and Love at First Sight having upgrades coming in the next couple of years, but once you leave the Fever era it's pretty slow going.

Amazing! Snatching that half a million seller!

Someone said it is nearer 800k in USA..... not sure where they got it from. I saw on a forum or twitter

So we know PP has sold 1,000,000 combined at least in UK/USA.. .

Didn't it get certification in Brazil and Australia too??

What a momentum for Kylie Ann.

Good to see it get that little bit of exposure on CBB, while the wait is long it will all help in getting padam padam to the million one day.

New Zealand: Gold (15k)

“Padam Padam” has been certified gold in the Netherlands, for 10 MILLION+ streams.

New Zealand thresh hold sales are so low, i never realised that before, 15k for gold.

They only have a population of 5 million though.

Australia’s certs are a joke - basically everything goes Platinum 🤣

Can you believe that Padam Padam is already 2 years old?

Edited by DanielsAloud

Such a great time when it was released, hard to believe its 2 years already, the tour should see this get a bit of a sales lift aswell.
