20k in streams for a Kylie song in one week! Unheard of :D

David Kushner's moving to ACR, so hopefully at least #8 or even #7 if it can overtake something like Switch Disco?

 

Everything else above it seems quite strong right now, but you never know as the week progresses!

💥 PADAM 💥 Kylie climbs above REACT on Apple to a new peak of 7! That’s big news, as it is something that I thought wouldn’t happen. It just goes to show that overtime Kylie can take on the songs above her.

 

Fingers crossed David Kushner goes to ACR (unless we have misjudged).

 

Leigh-Anne is only at 42 on Apple after more than 24 hours; with Peggy Gou at 34 and Doja Cat at 170, and no other big new entries. Of these only Leigh-Anne is above Kylie on iTunes.

 

Padam Padam is 2,7 and 8 on iTunes; and 1,2 and 9 on Apple Downloads.

 

It remains to be seen, how well the new entries do on Spotify, and how many sales Leigh-Anne has, but it isn’t a given that she will be above Kylie.

 

Whatever happens, Kylie stands a good chance of climbing, being a non-mover, or at least remaining in the top 10 for a second week.

Kylie top 10. It just doesnt seem real. I was content with her just getting number 1 albums from now on but a top 10 single. This is opening up Kylies Tension Era with a bang huns.

 

I just dont get all the doom mongering when this song is outperforming anything else she has released in the last ten years worldwide. The song is doing incedible. It feels like we are back in the 2000-2010 era of Kylie with her string of hits.

I think her next single from tension will get support from streaming and capital. At the very least hun.

Honestly if she stays with this mood and vibe with the album and singles then the support will be there.

I know what you mean hun but we can never gaurentee support. She has had some incredible singles over the years which had no support. I think this is just one of those moments where everything aligned.

 

I am just so happy. I cant wait to see how this era unfolds. As long as the tension album goes to number 1, then I will be happy with however this era unfolds. I mean, its already been so incredible.

 

I might see some of you on the tension tour as well.

I would love a follow up hit but we see so many times artists go to #1 or getting a huge smash and follow ups doing very little.

 

I just hope if nothing else the success of PP leads to more people checking her music out on streaming and also gives the ‘Tension’ album a boost as lapsed fans and new listeners join the party.

It would be amazing if her next single does well, but if it doesn’t, it won’t make me unhappy. I have genuinely loved PP Since I first heard it. This release has clearly shown that there is a demand for Kylie still, that and her albums performing well in this climate! It should buck up those ideas on what gets support and what doesn't.

Yeah, Padam Padam has clearly taken a life on its own, but I'm not expecting it to sustain to her next releases. Even artists that are "relevant" have issues with having several hits across an album, so I'm not expecting much and just enjoying this moment of Kylie being relevant beyond her dedicated fanbase. It would be nice if the support Padam Padam has could at least get single #2 into the top 30.

I've read that apparently she's now the only artist in history to have a top 10 single across 5 consecutive decades, along with having a #1 album across 5 consecutive decades.

 

Can anyone verify?

This is amazing news! It is great to see ‘Padam Padam’ having so much success globally on Apple Music. It is frustrating to see it only charting in 3 countries on Spotify. I have my own ideas, but it would be interesting to know why everybody else thinks there is so much difference between how well ’Padam Padam’ is doing on Apple and how well it is doing on Spotify.
