Narrowly missing out on a place in the final are Swedish pop group Ace of Base with their only UK #1 single. Taken from their debut album Happy Nation, the song was actually recorded in 1991 but went through numerous modifications before finally being released. The group had 4 further top 10 hits and 7 further top 40 hits in the UK.

We're here then, the final round - VOTE FOR YOUR FAVOURITE!

Amazing run for No Limit. Fair play to it though there were about 5 other songs I prefer. :arrr: Haddaway will demolish it though surely.

What is Love to win!

how the terrible No Limit made the finally is a mystery to me

Haddaway still played now and sounds fresh still whereas No Limits is the song that sounds of it’s time!

A result that was never in doubt. What Is Love only picked up 1 vote for elimination throughout the entire survivor and now dominates this final with a convincing victory. Haddaway is a German-American Eurodance singer who was born in Trinidad & Tobago and this is by far and away his most well known song. It was kept off #1 in the UK by Gabrielle's Dreams and was in fact the only non-#1 to make the year end top 10 singles. Nevertheless it's an easy victory here!

Eurodance really was a force in 1993 with 2 Unlimited, fittingly perhaps, finishing 2nd. The Belgian & Dutch group had a swathe of hits during the early 90s but this was the only one to reach top spot in the UK when it became the first new #1 of the year. The UK release weirdly had all the rap parts removed (bar the word 'techno') but it's much better in its full glory. This song did well to dodge a few close calls throughout this survivor but simply couldn't overcome the mighty What Is Love.

Wow didn’t actually realise Haddaway was a number two until I seen the chart run there!
Me neither!! Had I not seen it in the 90's #2's and then looked it up on Wikipedia I would've assumed it was a number one as well. Definitely one for a 'I thought they were a #1' debate.
