Posted October 28, 20222 yr Just announced!! The girls are supporting Take That in Hyde Park in 2023 View this post on Instagram Am I stoked that a superior girlband is yet again relegated to a support slot for an inferior boyband? No. But this is a 2023 date. Which means they’re already planning things for next year. Which means they’re planning more shows. This is pretty spectacularly high profile. While I firmly believe they should be a headliner, the take that crowd are album buyers still. It’s not a bad thing to get them deeper into the locals conscious as a force again. Excited they’re getting higher and higher profile again. I think their Glasto set has really made them quite desirable so I’d be very surprised if this was the only summer 2023 date
October 28, 20222 yr It’s great to see they are actively booking things for next year, it gives fans hope they are really going to stick around even more. I see a year similar to this year with lots of festival bookings and prides?
October 28, 20222 yr That’s a good gig for them. I was kinda hoping that if Spice Girls announced Hyde Park (lots of rumours of two festivals in U.K. next year Glasto and Hyde Park) that Sugababes would support them alongside some other girl bands. Guess this puts that nail in the coffin.
October 28, 20222 yr This is indeed very good and exciting news; their first 2023 date!! With them you honestly never know, so part of me was afraid it would be quiet for another 5 years after everything this year
October 28, 20222 yr Author Hahah same! It’s why I’m happy about this even if it’s a support slot and they should have higher billing than the f***ing script of all people @spiceboy - I can’t think of a reason why they couldn’t support a spice girls date as well. Is there something about the way these are organised I’m maybe missing?
October 28, 20222 yr This is great and another sign that the music is coming (though Mutya did confirm Today would be released, so)...
October 28, 20222 yr @spiceboy - I can’t think of a reason why they couldn’t support a spice girls date as well. Is there something about the way these are organised I’m maybe missing? I suppose they could Tbf I just have never known an act support more than one act at Hyde Park summer festivals… my knowledge isn’t vast though. I had hoped if Spice Girls do it they would do some kind of girl band celebration show and get Sugababes and All Saints maybe someone like Saturdays, Sister Sledge, Bananarama, Atomic Kitten etc (Girls Aloud and Sugas would have been the dream but totally understand GA not doing anymore without Sarah) Edited October 28, 20222 yr by Scary Spiceboy
October 29, 20222 yr I’m very happy they’re being booked for the next year! Hope for more solo gigs / festivals though rather than support for Take That. I hope I return to Europe in 2023 and will be able to attend some of them FINALLY! It’s a very long shot under the current circumstances of course, but one can hope! Edit: missed the neighbour thread of the festival on 27 of May lol. There’s a slight chance I’ll be able to do it! Edited October 29, 20222 yr by Zárate
October 30, 20222 yr How Take That have any fans is beyond me, but great to see them all booked up next year. The album is coming everyone!
October 31, 20222 yr I've booked a ticket for this just now. Was GUTTED not to be able to make any of the Sugababes dates this year due to calendar clashes at every turn (or oil protestors stopping me getting to Southend). So I'm very hyped to see this! And Take That. Not The Script, but hopefully some more good support acts will come up.
