November 2, 20222 yr Anyone but ladbaby please I’d actually quite like it to be one of the classics this year. I know it’s unlikely to ever happen but I’d love to see Merry Christmas Everyone get it for a week, such an underrated Christmas song!
November 2, 20222 yr I'd take 33/1 on Mariah! I just have! I figured it had to be worth a couple of quid, I also stuck a couple of quid on Ed because I'm sure if he really wants another Christmas number one he'll find a way. I've got a feeling Ladbaby won't do one this year. Edited November 2, 20222 yr by Mangø
November 2, 20222 yr Still no odds on my Skybet app yet :/ they're usually very slow off the mark mind.
November 2, 20222 yr 30th anniversary of 'I Will Always Love You' going to #1, apart from that no idea. Oh yeah and there is a musical out later this year I guess. Probably one of the more logical choices based on that.
November 2, 20222 yr What I don't understand about odds is surely Mariah Carey is more likely to be Christmas number 1 than Whitney Houston or Michael Bublé?
November 2, 20222 yr Cliff should be #1 he has a new Christmas album out this month and the old dears love him and who doesn’t love a bit of Mistletoe and Wine?? Banger. Edited November 2, 20222 yr by Megg065
November 2, 20222 yr Author My maximum stake on Mariah with William Hill is only £1  Was gonna shover a fiver on her
November 2, 20222 yr What I don't understand about odds is surely Mariah Carey is more likely to be Christmas number 1 than Whitney Houston or Michael Bublé? Yeah it's weird, I have no idea how they pick the odds. Even Slade are higher than her despite the fact that it never even comes close! (last year it only peaked at #21, its lowest for 5 years) Edited November 2, 20222 yr by Mangø
November 2, 20222 yr Ladbaby know what there like because we recession say need bring song help food bank seem thing say every year time stick sausage roll somewhere else
November 2, 20222 yr Isn't it just based on who bets? The average member of the public wouldn't follow the charts so would just go with any household name or any song that gets played on the radio. The last Ladbaby release did actually get a little bit of backlash and there has been the tabloid rumours about him so I feel like we may be spared now, I can't see Three Lions getting it unless England win which is looking extremely unlikely at this point, should've released it in the summer where it actually did come home -_- I think a Christmas song seems most likely, too much to hope for Spotify to promote the Pogues above Wham and Mariah for ONCE so they can get their turn? </3
November 2, 20222 yr The last Ladbaby release did actually get a little bit of backlash and there has been the tabloid rumours about him so I feel like we may be spared now, Nah, the cost of living crisis means they will almost certainly be back
November 2, 20222 yr Ladbaby know what there like because we recession say need bring song help food bank seem thing say every year time stick sausage roll somewhere else based on the footage that surfaced recently he might have been doing just that :teresa:
November 2, 20222 yr Yeah it's weird, I have no idea how they pick the odds. Even Slade are higher than her despite the fact that it never even comes close! (last year it only peaked at #21, its lowest for 5 years) I don’t think there’s much thought process behind what the bookies do they def don’t watch the charts/Spotify streams to think of things!
November 4, 20222 yr Ed has just posted that he's signing off until 2023, so I wouldn't bet on either a new Christmas single from him, or any promo again for Merry Christmas. When he has these breaks, he does generally stick to his word and goes silent, even if this isn't going to be a very long one.
November 4, 20222 yr Sam Ryder having better odds than Wham and Mariah is sending me  If I was his manager, I would be out there with a Christmas song this year in the Wizzard and Slade glam rock style (Glam Ryder *.*). Why not strike while the iron's hot like The Darkness did, he has the voice to pull it off and a slim chance of gaining an evergreen Christmas classic. But any slim chance of that seems out the window anyway as his new single is out today. He can of course dine out on Eurovision/pre-party/media appearances in April and May for decades to come (hopefully popping up every time we get a bad result to remind the public and media that people will vote for a good song by us). But I hope he doesn't only become known for Eurovision and can somehow manage another hit down the line. His talent is incredible, his follow-up singles to Space Man less so.
November 4, 20222 yr If England do win the World Cup I could see LadBaby doing his own version of Three Lions.
November 4, 20222 yr If England do win the World Cup I could see LadBaby doing his own version of Three Lions. They usually plan these things months in advance though, I'd be surprised if they would write one that quickly if England do well, given that the World Cup doesn't start until mid-November.
November 4, 20222 yr The only artist I have seen who said they are recording Christmas music is Tom Grennan but I don't know whether that's his own single or something else.
