November 11, 20223 yr Ah! 'Glimpse Of Us' was a very welcome re-entry  I forgot we were getting a fairly hefty ACR clearout this week too, I'm glad 'Bad Habit' gets another week in the top 40 anyway.

While there was nowhere to go but down, at least in terms of chart positions, the singer, dancer, and occasional rapper was only getting started. Within a few years, Brown became one of the biggest active pop stars with Chris Brown (2005) and Exclusive (2007), multi-platinum albums that produced five more Top Ten singles, including "Kiss Kiss" and "Forever." As a featured artist or duettist, he added to the count with hits such as "No Air," a ballad with Jordin Sparks. By the end of the decade, Brown underwent a stylistic makeover during which his forebears shifted to the likes of Jodeci, R. Kelly, and 2Pac. This, and a more drastic change in public image, did little to slow his commercial momentum. His streak of Top Ten albums was sustained with releases such as Graffiti (2009), the Grammy-winning F.A.M.E. (2011), and Fortune (2012). Brown's artistic scope has since continued to widen with Heartbreak on a Full Moon (2017) and Indigo (2019), albums as long as epic films. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2006 02 Run It! (feat. November 11, 20223 yr Author 30 | 33 | 3rd week Joel Corry and Tom Grennan Lionheart (Fearless) Non-album single Released: 21st October 2022 Label: Warner Music UK Chart Statistics NE (03/11/2022) | 37-33-30 Sales: 20k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 09 Sales 95 Audio Streaming 00 Video Streaming Video n5F-4Dd0LwU Biography Joel Corry “Back Again” might seem like a strange title for a debut single, but not for Joel Corry: When the British DJ/producer dropped his first record in 2015, he was already well known to UK audiences from his appearances on the MTV reality show Geordie Shore. While that program captured its cast members’ romantic misadventures with tongue firmly in cheek, Corry has treated his musical career with far more seriousness, faithfully updating the sounds of classic house with a sleek contemporary touch. Born in London in 1989, Corry was just a boy when the slinky sounds of UK garage catapulted underground dance music into British pop around the turn of the millennium, but he brings the same crossover spirit to his own productions. While 2015’s “Back Again” and “Light It Up” flirted with big-room EDM, Corry looked to the past for his breakout hit, a 2019 cover of Monsta Boy’s 2000 UK garage classic “Sorry” that paired soulful vocals with crisp, jittery drum programming. He’s pursued a similar approach on subsequent singles like “Lonely” and “Head & Heart”, updating the piano chords and organ stabs of ’90s dance pop with 21st-century production values. While Corry’s timeless hooks are perfect for radio, he’s careful to always have something special for the dance floor. As he told Apple Music: “With all my records I like to do my own VIP mix”—that is, a club-ready version that’s a little tougher and heavier. With reality TV in the rearview, these days Corry’s simply keeping it real. - Apple Music Tom Grennan At 26 years old Tom Grennan already knows the impact an album can have. His gold-certified debut Lighting Matches was one of 2018’s Top 10 best- selling debuts. Huge tunes like ‘Found What I’ve Been Looking For’, ‘Barbed Wire’ and ‘Something In The Water’ propelled Tom to sold-out headline shows at Royal Albert Hall and Brixton Academy. As one of the top 200 most streamed artists in the world, Tom Grennan now counts three chart topping singles in 2021 alone with ‘Little Bit of Love’, ‘By Your Side’ with Calvin Harris and the Number One Trending Song ‘Let’s Go Home Together’ with Ella Henderson. Now surpassing 250M global streams, Tom’s acclaimed UK Number One album ‘Evering Road’ has seen him recognised as “one of the country's bright young musical talents" by British GQ, simply “epic” by the NME and “a catchy, dance-adjacent mea culpa that will score with fans" by ES Magazine. 2021 has seen him on the field at Soccer Aid as well as a UK tour with a sold-out Alexandra Palace. - Spotify Top 100 Chart History Joel Corry 2019 06 Sorry -NAS- MILLIONAIRE 2020 04 Lonely -NAS- MILLIONAIRE 2020 01 Head & Heart (feat. A lot of that pop intuition and innovation starts with frontman Ryan Tedder, who began playing coffeehouses in Colorado in the late ’90s with high school buddies including guitarist Zach Filkins. When Tedder moved to Los Angeles a few years later, he reconnected with Filkins and together they formed OneRepublic in 2002. At the same time, Tedder was building his career as a songwriter, eventually writing and producing singles for artists like Leona Lewis, Hilary Duff, and Jennifer Lopez. But when it came to his own band, he’s said his goal has never been to write a hit, only to create genuine works of art: “It has to be a hundred-percent authentic and visceral to my human experience. If I haven’t felt it, if I didn’t go through it, if it’s not resonating with me, I can’t sing it,” Tedder told Apple Music. That straight-from-the-heart mentality is what ignites the straight-to-the-gut effect of OneRepublic’s greatest anthems, starting with their 2006 debut single “Apologize”—which eventually became a multiplatinum success—and later with even bigger songs like 2013’s propulsive folk-pop stomper “Counting Stars” and more diverse sounds such as 2016’s silvery synth groove “Kids.” As Tedder continues to rack up songwriting and production credits alongside Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, Adele, and other chart-topping stars, he’s still saving up his hardest emotional punches for OneRepublic’s next global smash. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2007 03 Apologize (Timbaland presents OneRepublic) -1- MILLIONAIRE 2007 04 Stop And Stare -2- 2008 51 Say (All I Need) -3- 2010 30 All The Right Moves -1- 2010 77 Secrets -2- 2013 01 Counting Stars -1- MILLION SELLER 2014 07 If I Lose Myself (OneRepublic & Alesso) -2- 2014 03 Love Runs Out -3- 2014 29 I Lived -4- 2014 78 Something I Need -AT- 2016 29 Wherever I Go -1- 2016 58 Kids -2- 2017 84 Rich Love (feet. Her career as a lyricist has seen her write and perform on stand out cuts like Angel D’Lite ‘Pleasure Xone 43’, M4A ‘Shades Of Red’, and with Cody Currie on the ‘Flame’ EP, cementing Eliza as a contemporary and future voice for the next rise of UK club culture, a sentiment dear to her heart. This is very much the start for Eliza with her debut EP currently in the works for later in the year, incorporating her electronic roots mixed with neo-soul and more. Early supporters for Eliza Rose already include Resident Advisor, The Face, Mixmag, DJ Mag, Vinyl Factory and more. - Apple Music Interplanetary Criminal Interplanetary Criminal’s contribution to the sound of UK garage has not gone unnoticed since his big breakthrough over lockdown. The producer first emerged in the 2010s, releasing a string of bangers merging shuffling beats with rough-edged melodies on labels such as E-Beamz and Kalahari Oyster Cult. Over time he's honed in on the UKG sound, turning heads in even the furthest corners of the globe. The Manchester-born DJ, producer and ATW Records label co-head is helping to further the resurgence of a genre that carries the weight of the UK on its back — a tribute to ‘90s dance music and some of the most prevalent club bangers that had Britain uniting on the dancefloor with its distinctive sound. In a new strain of UK garage, Interplanetary Criminal - real name Zach Bruce - brings that nostalgia back to club dwellers all over the UK, most notably in the city he was born and raised. “I feel like Manchester has always had an amazing scene with so many advocates for UK bass music,” says Zach when we chat to him from his home city. “There’s such an abundance of good music and producers. If you’re throwing a UKG party up here, it’s almost always gonna sell out.” Through his time on the scene, Zach has released through labels including Dansu Discs, Sneaker Social Club, and Shall Not Fade’s Time Is Now, and picked up even more traction through viral sets and raucous livestreams playing to boisterous, high-energy crowds. The producer pays homage to Manchester every bit of the way, and has helped to bring younger crowds through the doors to experience a genre that circulated clubs before they were born. Now playing tastemaker, Zach recently launched his own label, ATW, alongside close friend Main Phase seeing the UKG hopefuls and up-and-comers get their foot in the door. In a quick come-up post-lockdown, Interplanetary Criminal simply has fun with what he does, and that’s the beauty of his project. As strong a producer as he is a DJ, Zach’s homemade club stormers and charged-up crowd-pleasers are only ever certain to fill a dancefloor. - MixMag Top 100 Chart History Eliza Rose 2022 01 B.O.T.A. November 11, 20223 yr Author 26 | 27 | 18th week Burna Boy featuring Ed Sheeran For My Hand 3rd single from Love, Damini Released: 8th July 2022 Label: Atlantic Recording Corporation Chart Statistics NE (21/07/2022) | 30-35-32-34-30-25-25-24-24-22-21-20-19-18-20-24-27-26 Sales: 200k+ Certification: Silver Status: Standard Chart Ratio 17 Sales 28 Audio Streaming 13 Video Streaming Video EDZ25anwgjc Biography Nigerian singer Burna Boy opened his Apple Music Up Next spotlight with a distinction: “Music’s supposed to be a universal language. You understanding what I’m saying is second. The primary thing is, what does the person inside you hear?” It’s a simple but radical thought: You can listen on your terms, but he doesn’t have to meet you halfway. Born in 1991 and raised on the southern coast of Nigeria before moving to London for college, Burna (born Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu) has become one of the most prominent African pop artists of the 21st century, fusing his specific background—a Nigerian man entering adulthood in the United Kingdom—with a global vision that encompasses Afrobeats, dancehall, trap, UK hip-hop and just about everything else that might fit under his diasporic umbrella. The result is an artist who isn’t confined by his identity but doesn’t dilute it either. By the time he received broader recognition through a (conspicuously uncredited) feature on Drake’s 2017 mix, More Life, he was already a star in Africa; 2019’s African Giant, which featured collaborators as disparate as Angélique Kidjo, Skrillex, Damian Marley and Future, brought him into international focus. Yeah, he’s just speaking to his people. But there are more of them all the time. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Burna Boy 2017 88 Good Time (J Hus feat. Burna Boy) 2019 06 Location (Dave feat. Born in 1991, the singer/songwriter was raised in the small Irish village of Rathcoole, where he began writing songs as a teenager before studying classical music at Maynooth University and forming folk band Shadows and Dust. He soon set off on his own, busking on Dublin’s Grafton Street, the same spot favored by famous street musicians like Glen Hansard, The Frames frontman and Once actor. Kennedy built up his raspy, throat-ripping howls on the pavement, but found his largest following online after he self-released romantic ballads like 2015’s “An Evening I Will Not Forget” and 2016’s “After Rain”. A larger audience exposed him to a few key producers, including Stephen Kozmeniuk (Koz) and Mike Dean, both of whom have helped enhance the poetic intimacy of Kennedy’s songwriting with rumbling beats and expansive electronic production. Finding a delicate balance between soaring folk and understated hip-hop has been the key to Kennedy’s sound, starting with his 2019 debut album, Without Fear. His strengths come in turning quiet melodies into rousing anthems, including “Power Over Me”, a propulsive paean that captures the intoxicating rush of becoming enraptured, and “Outnumbered”, which feels almost gospel-like in its cathartic chorus. Meanwhile, his voice—a slightly weathered mix of grit and gravel—ties it all together, bringing the raw intensity he learned as a busker to pop charts around the world. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2019 06 Outnumbered -2- MILLIONAIRE 2019 27 Power Over Me -1/3- 2019 89 All My Friends -AT- 2020 12 Giants -4- 2020 05 Paradise (Meduza feat.
