December 2, 20223 yr Author 01 | 01 | 6th week Taylor Swift Anti-Hero 1st single from Midnights Released: 21st October 2022 Label: Taylor Swift Chart Statistics NE (03/11/2022) | 1-1-1-1-1-1 Sales: 200k+ Certification: Silver Status: Standard Chart Ratio 01 Sales 01 Audio Streaming 01 Video Streaming Video b1kbLwvqugk Biography The country world feigned surprise when, after three albums of Music Row-indebted songcraft, Taylor Swift formally embraced pop on 2012’s Red. But no one should have been shocked: Any 14-year-old capable of persuading her parents to move from suburban Pennsylvania to Nashville for her career clearly has ambition to burn. And the thrill of following Swift’s rise has been watching her execute it flawlessly, largely because her melodic intelligence is equal to that ambition. Her early, youthful love songs heralded 2010's newly self-possessed Speak Now—which showed off her scathing wit—and evolved into knowing, ironclad pop fare that held its own against boisterous Max Martin production on 1989, her fifth album, titled after her birth year. Throughout, her songwriting has blurred the lines between the public and private, burying enough real-life clues (about, say, scarves and Starbucks) to make clear that only Swift can own her narrative, thank you very much, while still retaining a lyrical elegance. Though 2017’s reputation might have been perceived as a gorgeously constructed piece of dramatic theater—its attendant heroes and villains all real-life characters from Swift's public feuds—all that spectacle proved an attention-grabbing cover for her most romantic album yet. She turned up the romance even more on 2019’s Lover, but it was 2020’s folklore and its companion, evermore—ruminative, relatively lo-fi albums written and recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic—that earned her the Apple Music Award for Songwriter of the Year. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2009 02 Love Story -1- MILLIONAIRE 2009 60 White Horse -AT- 2009 51 Teardrops On My Guitar -2- 2009 100 Crazier -OST- 2009 30 You Belong With Me -3- 2010 57 Today Was A Fairytale -OST- 2010 30 Mine -1- 2012 67 Safe & Sound (feat. December 2, 20223 yr Meghan Trainor doo-woping herself back to #2 was another thing that wasn't needed this year. Thank god for Raye that this is no longer looking like a default post-Xmas #1.
December 2, 20223 yr i love anti-hero so i'm glad its still #1! still an absolutely incredible song but not the best from the album though!
December 2, 20223 yr Anti-Hero is nice but would really like a new Number 1 next week please. Although sounds like the Lewis song isn’t up to much from what people have said.
December 2, 20223 yr One of the best top 2 in ages :cheeseblock: Made You Look is utterly fabulous and I still can't believe Meghan scored another massive hit, one of the biggest bops of the year  And whew a six week #1 for Taylor!!! I legit never thought this would happen either and its so amazing to see a song as fab as Anti-Hero smashing this much  One of the rare cases where the official top 2 nearly matched my personal chart top 2! (but Karma is a slayage there so they have to settle for 2 and 3 x)
December 2, 20223 yr Author  Future chart hit? Lewis Capaldi Pointless 2nd single from Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent Released: 2nd December 2022 Label: Vertigo Berlin Video ygkLqJq1Gyk Biography “I never really think, ‘OK, I’m going to write a song,’” Lewis Capaldi told Apple Music. “My creative process is basically: I sit down with a guitar and or at the piano, and I just start to write.” But the amazing thing about Capaldi is that he’s become one of the most popular young artists of his generation by preserving his songs in that raw, unvarnished state, to provide the purest representation of the pain and longing coursing through his lyrics. Amid the hyper-paced, totally wired world of late-2010s pop, this unassuming Scottish singer-songwriter and former Up Next artist—born 1996 in Glasgow—stopped the internet dead in its tracks with his DIY 2017 single “Bruises”, a stark, piano-based breakup ballad that introduced a voice imbued with the sort of soulful grit and deeply felt heartache you wouldn’t expect from a baby-faced 21-year-old. “Bruises” was Capaldi’s ticket to international major-label deals and tours opening for pop A-listers like Sam Smith and Niall Horan, but he would swiftly join their ranks with his equally rustic 2018 single “Someone You Loved”, another tear-jerking expression of sorrow—inspired by the death of his grandmother—that went to No. 1 in the US and UK, and has since become one of the most-streamed songs of all time. Those singles formed the foundation of Capaldi’s chart-topping full-length debut, 2019’s Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, which fleshes out his sound with lush orchestration and gospel gravitas but, through songs like the suicide-themed “Before You Go”, retains his fearless flair for dredging up the messiest of emotions. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2018 09 Grace -2- MILLIONAIRE 2018 01 Someone You Loved -3- MILLIONAIRE 2019 06 Bruises -1/5- MILLIONAIRE 2019 04 Hold Me While You Wait -4- MILLIONAIRE 2019 01 Before You Go -6- MILLIONAIRE 2022 01 Forget Me -1- 2022 00 Pointless -2- 3 x #1 | 4 x Top 5 | 6 x Top 10 | 6 x Top 20 | 6 x Top 40 | 6 x Top 100 Social Media Lewis Capaldi http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png
December 2, 20223 yr So that's 2 #1's for Meghan and 2 #2's! Good for her I guess even though really it's thanks to TikTok!
December 2, 20223 yr Anti-Hero is nice but would really like a new Number 1 next week please. Although sounds like the Lewis song isn’t up to much from what people have said. It's definitely time for a new #1 (and that's NEW not re-peak, save that to Christmas week if we must so I can make some money off it oop-). Pull through Raye.
December 2, 20223 yr Really hoping 'Made You Look' isn't a future #1. Although I suppose it's not quite as bad as 'Psycho' and 'Miss You' if I'm damning with faint praise.
December 2, 20223 yr Glad Taylor made a nice 6 weeks. Wouldn't have minded a few more considering Harry and LF got more but I can't complain as it's lasted longer on top than I thought! Still a fab song. Edited December 2, 20223 yr by Roba!
December 2, 20223 yr This is literal lift music, I doubt anyone is actually seeking this out and wanting to actively listen to it lol. What the Buble track? The album it’s from is one of the biggest selling this century Edited December 2, 20223 yr by Steve201
December 2, 20223 yr Originally liked Jack on the show and even though I agree with him about Christmas tracks in the charts, he did make the point ad nauseum and ended up getting annoyed by his moaning more than the songs themselves. Just wonder what he'll be like next week as the streams for Christmas tracks explode in December. Incandescent! :heehee: And agreed re missing out tracks too when counting the chart too... Edited December 2, 20223 yr by Smint
December 2, 20223 yr Would be brilliant if Messy In Heaven was Christmas Number 1 although it would be good if Anti-Hero was still up there then too.
December 2, 20223 yr What the Buble track? The album it’s from is one of the biggest selling this century Yeah true I suppose I forget people have really bland music taste.
December 2, 20223 yr Yeah true I suppose I forget people have really bland music taste. life is all about opinions!
December 3, 20223 yr Excellent to see RAYE/070 as high as #6 already but like... could they not have pushed one place further to save us the ignominy of 'PSYCHO' becoming a top 5 hit <_< Still hard to tell how next week will go but got my fingers crossed for 'Escapism.' especially as Lewis Capaldi is not currently looking much like a #1 debut contender this time based on Apple Music. Kinda wish 'Made You Look' could have snuck a week in this week tbh (not that it was that close tbf), think it's likely peaking at #2 now and 'Anti-Hero' has had enough time at the top - it's grown on me a bit but I still find it a bit overrated oops. Finally heard her album now and I'd rank it pretty midtable on there although it's a real mixed bag of an album with a couple of really great songs and a couple of cringe moments, actually a pretty even distribution of quality between that tbh. 'Snow On The Beach' is the best of the 3 that have charted, 'Lavender Haze' is pretty mid. Would quite like to see 'You're On Your Own, Kid' having its turn in the chart soon please. 'Hide & Seek' getting a 4th week at #7 kind of iconic. Glad that 'Firebabe' has missed the top 10 though considering a) it's a snoozefest and b) it's being way inflated by the Amazon orchestral version, it's clearly not popular enough in its own right to be a top 10 hit. Looking forward to it holding up quite well for the rest of December then vanishing. Fair play to him managing to hold Cliff off in the album chart although I was almost starting to root for Cliff towards the end of the week  Glad to see The Pogues got a play, poor brave Shaky being skipped in favour of the Guetta garbage though. (oh and  to Wham! achieving the top 10 full house x)
December 3, 20223 yr If Drake hadn't released his album, Hide & Seek would have spent 7 weeks in a row at #7 (a bit of a statement perhaps, but it was quite a surprise release, and nothing has even spent 6 weeks in a row at any position outside the Top 4)
