Twink alert!! It's nicky you're with 'Sunroof' a catchy track in the summer which was quite the slow progressing track in the official charts eventually settling on a top 30 peak.

cackling at this 'twink alert' lmaoooooooooooooooooooooo sorry had to make a comment on that before doing a summary lol

Some dance tracks back to back as Kathaldazia's BJSC entry from middle of the year X CLUB and 'SKIN ON SKIN' is 90, a hard style dance rave. It's probably common knowledge that I really hated 'Down Under' (not the original as that's good ofc) so I was skeptical when seeing another Luude track was taking off a few months later but as it turns out 'Big City Life' was a vast improvement despite not really changing anything much about the song it remixed and also went on to outpeak in the charts anyway. Interestingly Mattafix who I'm referring to in that act they used had Marlon Roudette who had a big hit in my chart back in 2015 but I hadn't realised he was part of them so I've learnt a new piece of info this year!

from the 150-101:

148. Demi Lovato - SKIN OF MY TEETH

147. ROSALIA - DESPECHÁ

146. Regard Ft Years and Years - Hallucination

3 bangers IN A ROWWWWW

139. Taylor Swift - The Great War - such a gorgeous song

130. Bite Me - Avril Lavigne - comeback of the decade imo

119. RAYE Ft 070 Shake - Escapism - yasssss

111. Jessica Darrow - Surface Pressure

110. Alesso Ft Katy Perry - When I'm Gone - shame it flopped

108. Ava Max - Weapons - yasssss pt 2

106. Tiesto Ft Tate McRae - 10:35 - yassssss pt3

105. Cat Burns - Go

101. Lewis Capaldi - Forget Me

and from within the top 100:

Family Madrigal, Supermodel, stay with me and ofc the gorgeous all the way over! also yes the luude version of down under was horrendous! glad theres someone else who hates it lol. Big city live was a bop tho!

great countdown rob!

I'm just accustomed to that term because of the artists Joseph listens to  and seeing it thrown around on the site over the years haha.

REVE a big BJSC Smash for the first half of 2022 appears at 88. It also was a top 40 hit in Canada last year! +++ (Crosses) might not have 'Bitches Brew' feature here but that doesn't stop 'Initiation' from popping up as it is from this year after all and is no.87!

Thanks to Jade for sending 'wedbecutetoget-her' by an act called o0o.. yeah I don't know anything about them apart from releasing this sped up dancey version of Frou Frou's 'Let Go' which itself is from all the way back to 2002 :o and strangely enough kept popping up in the pub I was in with my mate during August/September  someone clearly likes the original a lot. Anyhow the remixed sped up version that was sent to BJSC this year despite being released in 2020 is eligible cause of already mentioned exceptions is 86.

Elton John decided to work his magic again off the back of 'Cold Heart' and brought Britney a nice gift in the form of a top 3 UK Hit in September 'Hold Me Closer' which takes off his track 'Tiny Dancer' registers as my 85th song of the year!

Alesso didn't quite manage to score a top 40 hit with Katy Perry but he did however achieve it with Swedish singer Zara Larsson on 'Words' in the summer after hanging around outside for some time. Accessible dance tune for me and it's 84 here plus it was top 10 in my personal chart.

Red Hot Chili Peppers recruited Flea back into the band after he quit years ago and fans got not one but two albums from them this year. 'Black Summer' was the lead from their No.1 UK Album Unlimited Love in February. As funky and expected as you'd come to know from a RHCP song to go but it's still nice to see them churning out songs they feel in their natural zone with!

Years and Years final song to show up at 82 is the team up with Galantis on 'Sweet Talker'. I thought this would do a bit better officially but it only seemed to hang about the low top 30 where it ultimately peaked before zooming off. A good dance tune. New pop rocker Cassyette appears next with 'Mayhem' at 81. It's not the last time we'll be hearing from her and this is her 2nd appearance already. For those not in the know she also was (I'm not sure if they still are) dating current chart show host Jack Saunders which might be one of the reasons all her songs she dropped that feature in here were on the Radio 1 playlist much to my surprise. We never would've found out just how well 'Mayhem' would have done in BJSC either as the person who sent her didn't vote!

Thanks Conor, agreed with all of those. Alesso and Katy deserved a low top 40 at the very least!

I think a few others hate it too dw

Will aim to get to top 50 later today. Depends on if I get myself round to posting some before the Buzzjack thing that's going on in the chart forum or not... otherwise it'll be all of the next three sections in the evening :P

Here are my favourite from your latest selection:

98. Ed Sheeran - Celestial

97. Måneskin - SUPERMODEL

96. Alok Ft Ella Eyre, Kenny Dope & Never Dull - Deep Down

110. Alesso Ft Katy Perry - When I'm Gone – quite liked this (and Words to a slightly lesser extent) but Alesso used to be a lot better

106. Tiesto Ft Tate McRae - 10:35 – starting to enjoy this a bit more now so could break my chart in the new year

105. Cat Burns - Go – alright track but better in the DnB remix version for me

104. DJ Seinfeld - These Things Will Come To Be

102. Sophie and The Giants - We Own The Night

99. My Chemical Romance - The Foundations of Decay – a great comeback for them, better than I had expected

96. Alok Ft Ella Eyre, Kenny Dope & Never Dull - Deep Down – absolutely love this, it will be rather high in my EOY

92. Calvin Harris Ft Justin Timberlake, Halsey and Pharell - Stay With Me – the best from Calvin's new album although it only just about made my EOY 200

90. SKIN ON SKIN & X Club - Rise Up

89. Luude - Big City Life – I quite liked Down Under but agreed this was a bit better

88. Rêve - CTRL + ALT + DEL

110. Yeah same, shame Katy is past helping artists get a smash now. 'Words' is good too.

106. Oh that's good. Pleased it's looking to give Tate another hit of sorts too.

105. Not sure I've heard that version but this was fine.

99. Same here. I hope this isn't it for them and they release more next year.

96. Glad to hear. It did fade on me pretty quick after seeing it not do much beyond #63.

92. As I saw yeah. This was better for me. Pretty funky.

89. Obviously disagree with DU but glad we agree that BCL is better.

It's been a couple of sections now but we now see another track from Midnights appear and it's 'Paris' at 80 whilst 'Head On Fire' by Griff and Sigrid is 79. This was a strong pop song that again was another song to not make the official top 40 this year. I love the chorus and the ooh unison bits especially!

Well I bet you didn't see Bad Boy Chiller Crew in my top 100 coming  neither did I until 'BMW' came along. It's actually a pretty fun track and certainly their best effort from what I've heard of them which compared to others on the site is not that much actually!

The only appearance for Godele in my countdown comes from 'Oh My God' (EOM would have probably been top 20 if I did one for last year). It charted alongside another of hers from the album last year but did stick around the official charts at the start of the year too and it's one of her more upbeat songs on there. I'm sorry to say I found 30 extremely boring due to so many dreary slow ballads!

It's an former Summericia entrant in moistbreezy with 'Planet Pleasure' in 76th, a good dancey bop from her yet again. 75 also comes from BJSC too but not an artist of mine as it's MotherMary and Tensnake with 'Pray' which got some huge points from us in the month it was sent.

Joel Corry isn't one to show up in a EOY of mine with the exception of one hit from 2020 but this added to his tally of great songs for me. 'Lionheart' is a roaring anthemic sounding banger and Tom's vocals fit nicely with it as well. King of the charts Ed Sheeran drops out at 71 with his second solo showing so far 'Overpass Graffiti'!
