#45. Mimi Webb ~ Ghost Of You [16 points]

Most hated: Bjork, MackMidnights [+8]

UK peak: #23

Last year Mimi Webb had one of the ten most hated songs of the year with her debut effort Good Without. She has continued to smash into 2022 so predictably she has a couple of entries here. However, her most recent single Ghost Of You was only offensive enough to two of you and so it ends up in last place.

#44. Sigala ~ Melody [19 points]

Most hated: seven. [+9]

UK peak: #31

Sigala had a couple of hits this year but it was not his biggest Stay the Night that caught most of Buzzjack's ire but rather his smaller earlier hit Melody. Although, it clearly didn't have too many detractors as it ends up second-from last. The song guested vocals from Ida Botten who it was decided wasn't a big enough of a name to receive any credit, meaning it became Sigala's second "solo" hit following from Easy Love.

#43. Joel Corry, David Guetta and Bryson Tiller ~ What Would You Do? [28 points]

Most hated: !!! [+9]

UK peak: #21

A top 10 hit eluded Joel Corry this year however he was able to score some middling hits which you all decided weren't that great as two of them appear in this here chart. This was another "collab" with David Guetta (as ever, it is questionable what he actually contributed if anything) and with Bryson Tiller on vocals giving him his second highest charting hit.

#42. Ed Sheeran ~ 2step (feat. Lil Baby) [31 points]

Most hated: Jason [+10]

UK peak: #9

Ed Sheeran appears in the chart four times and it seems that the least offensive of the lot is the one featuring one of last year's hate chart winners Lil Baby. '2Step' continued the highly successful "=" album campaign and it helped that it was a reasonably upbeat single following a soppy ballad that we will get to later on.

#41. Nathan Dawe and Talia Mar ~ Sweet Lies [34 points]

Most hated: JulianT [+8]

UK peak: #61

Perhaps the least essential of the commercial dance chart DJs of the moment Nathan Dawe sampled the 1999 classic Sweet Like Chocolate for his latest single and it sounded about as good as you'd expect. Perhaps it'd have been a bit more of a hate magnet had it actually managed to be a proper hit though.

#40. Lauren Spencer-Smith ~ Flowers [37 points]

Most hated: Dobbo [+18]

UK peak: #17

One of the latest of a batch of singer songwriters assisted by TikTok to stardom was Lauren who had two top 40 hits. This being the follow-up didn't attract quite as much disdain as her breakout hit but as a dull ballad and with her less than palatable vocal, we largely weren't fans of this either.

#39. Emmy Meli ~ I Am Woman [38 points]

Most hated: coi [+11]

UK peak: #63

Only a minor TikTok assisted hit here but clearly one offensive enough to some of those that heard it to end up landing here. And yeah, it ain't good anyway, I was pleased this never amounted to much in the chart.

#38. Lewis Capaldi ~ Forget Me [39 points]

Most hated: MackMidnights, detonate [+12]

UK peak: #1

Lewis Capaldi's comeback could have been a lot worse so to give him credit where it is due well done for not putting out something really worth hating on. Though a few of us did anyway. I'm still yet to hear Pointless, mind, so maybe that is what I was fearing this would be.

#37. Luude ~ Down Under (feat. Colin Hay) [42 points]

Most hated: UltraMidnights [+15]

UK peak: #5

Well it seemed the key to bringing back DnB to the chart was to take a classic 80s hit then. Down Under of course a #1 hit for Men At Work, and their lead singer recorded his vocal again for this version. Some felt it was too novelty or annoying though which I kinda get. I wasn't a huge fan of this but I'm also glad it is not too far up this rundown.

#36. Camila Cabello ~ I'll Be Home For Christmas [45 points]

Most hated: CJK [+13]

UK peak: #24

One of last year's Amazon exclusives for Christmas this was rather painful to listen to. The song itself isn't that great anyway but the vocal is particularly unpleasant. Let's hope none of this year's efforts are quite so bad. Thankfully Camila's own proper hit this year with Ed Sheeran wasn't half as bad.

I like all of those bar the HORRENDOUS Flowers :puke2:

I am Woman becoming a hit would have been iconic, gaddy gaddy gaddy gaddy!

Down Under is the reason for the drum and bass revival this year, far superior to Big City Life imo.

#35. Harry Styles ~ Music For A Sushi Restaurant [49 points]

Most hated: coi, Conorw, detonate [+13]

UK peak: #3

Harry's huge #1 hit As It Was and to a lesser extent its follow-up Late Night Talking were well received on Buzzjack, however this one less-so getting a bit more disdain than love. It opening Harry's album assisted it to a #3 position in the chart, but for me and others it is quite an annoying song.

#34. Mimi Webb ~ House On Fire [51 points]

Most hated: Bjork [+13]

UK peak: #6

Here's Mimi again - with her biggest hit of the year House On Fire. Not a very pleasant track really, but ultimately not her worst track and it makes sense this isn't very high on the list - there's many worse tracks to come.

#33. Dave ~ Starlight [52 points]

Most hated: adrianreavill83 [+12]

UK peak: #1

A bit of a shame to see Dave making the hate chart really as I find him to be one of the more interesting rappers of the moment. Even on this song which is perhaps his most commercial hit-chasing effort, though some found it a tad boring.

#32. Joel Corry and Becky Hill ~ History [54 points]

Most hated: !!! [+15]

UK peak: #18

I thought this was Joel Corry's best hit of the year, although mostly down to having Becky Hill as the vocalist. However it got a few more haters than his other track at least it is still in the lower third of the rundown. It being unashamedly generic doesn't help it I guess as there's always a few who dislike this style of dancepop.

#31. David Guetta ~ I'm Good (Blue) (feat. Bebe Rexha) [56 points]

Most hated: dannjohn [+13]

UK peak: #1

A bit of a controversial track for re-purposing the melody of the classic 1999 dance hit 'Blue', it got love and hate in fairly equal measure on the site but ultimately its hate-base can only push it this far up the chart. I predictably am a big fan of the track and thought it was David Guetta's best hit single in a while.

They're all good tracks as well, apart from House On Fire which is bang average but still listenable.

I'm Good is one of the best #1s this year.

'Down Under' & 'I'm Good' (Blue) were among the worst hits this year for me. The sample is annoying as hell and it's just an extremely average song for me. I did try to like it though as I do like both artists involved from past times.

Pleased the Mimi songs aren't so high up as those two are her two better efforts for me but I'm not saying they're amazing either.

Also 'Music For A Sushi Restaurant' is decent for me too. The video is.... though. 'Forget Me' out early is also good too.

Edited by Roba!

I've been a big hater of past efforts from Mimi and Joel but none of their songs made my votes this year so not too bothered at the early exits - 'HISTORY' was very close but ultimately lost the battle of eye rollingly generic dance pop tracks to 'Melody'. 'What Would You Do?' is ok. 'Ghost Of You' I actually kind of like (not enough that I'd listen to it again voluntarily, but decent nonetheless, a first for her), 'House On Fire' is melodically fine but let down by distractingly bad lyrics. 'Melody' wasn't Sigala's worst of the year - that'd be 'Living Without You' - but still no bueno.

'Flowers' was the "best" of Lauren's 3 hits but it's still a clunky over sentimental vom (the message is fine but it's more of a PSA than a song). Just slightly more tolerable vocally for the most part. I hope she's done now. And thank the lord 'I AM WOMAN' never took off properly, extremely irritating (though yes no surprise it's out so early since it was only a minor hit). Not a fan of the Camila track especially (cos of 'Christmoist' x) but easy to forget it even exists. 'I'm Good (Blue)' is total cringe and just awful sounding garbage and should be higher, should have stayed shelved but I guess the TikTokers actively wanted the garbage so ~

'Starlight' definitely shouldn't be here so glad that it's out pretty early by rap song standards (though there is no saving those responsible for 'N95' still being in <_<). I like 'Music For A Sushi Restaurant', 'Down Under' and '2step' too and 'Forget Me' would be good with a better vocalist but largely inoffensive as is.

#30. David Guetta, Becky Hill and Ella Henderson ~ Crazy What Love Can Do [60 points]

Most hated: !!! [+18]

UK peak: #5

One place above 'I'm Good' we have David Guetta's other big hit of the year. Assisted by not one but two of commercial dance's go-to vocalists helped it to become the big hit it was. However some on Buzzjack found it too generic for their liking. For me, this was just mid.

#29. Gayle ~ ABCDEFU [60 points]

Most hated: Dancember [+15]

UK peak: #1

Well this really should have been a lot higher. Gayle became one of the year's TikTok assisted one hit wonders with her sweary ode to her ex. For some of us it was just too obnoxious and irritating. But enough people liked it for it to be a UK #1 hit.

#28. OneRepublic ~ I Ain't Worried [63 points]

Most hated: Kath [+18]

UK peak: #3

OneRepublic this year had the comeback that most of us didn't ask for. Assisted by its use on one of the biggest films of the year Top Gun Maverick it slowly climbed up the chart and remained in the top 10 for far too long once it got there. It's a very meh song to begin with but on repeated listens the whistling hook just got more irritating.

#27. Leah Kate ~ 10 Things I Hate About You [70 points]

Most hated: Cow Cow, Michael Bubré [+15]

UK peak: #30

After Gayle opened the gates for poor pop-punk to break into the charts we ended up getting this as a minor hit which was almost as obnoxious but thankfully not quite so big of a hit. Leah Kate also gained notoriety for a song called 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Bitch' however the general public had enough taste to not let that be a hit.

#26. Bru-C ~ No Excuses [74 points]

Most hated: Conorw [+15]

UK peak: #14

With drum n bass being trendy again it was the perfect time for Bru-C who raps over such production to finally get a proper chart hit with a song about going on a night out. The novelty of it didn't please everyone though and its haters will be pleased that none of Bruce's follow ups have dented the chart so far.

#25. Cian Ducrot ~ All for You [76 points]

Most hated: Dobbo [+15]

UK peak: #19

Just what we didn't ask for was another singer songwriter in the chart who clearly went to the same vocal school as Lewis Capaldi however this managed to be a slow-burning hit for the past couple of months. We have decided it's not quite the worst hit ballad of the year though as king of sappy ballads Ed Sheeran is yet to come.

#24. Belters Only ~ Make Me Feel Good (feat. Jazzy) [78 points]

Most hated: seven. [+15]

UK peak: #4

One of the year's big dance hits and a personal favourite of mine from what the chart had to offer but clearly not to everyone's taste. None of their follow ups have managed to make the top 75 yet anyhow.

#23. ArrDee ~ Flowers (Say My Name) [79 points]

Most hated: jimwatts [+12]

UK peak: #3

Another obnoxious rap hit that peaked at the tail end of last year. Hopefully it turns out that ArrDee is just a fad and we don't have to put up with many more of these in the chart. It managed to mangle not one but two classic turn of the millennium hits too.

#22. Nathan Dawe ~ 21 Reasons (feat. Ella Henderson) [80 points]

Most hated: seven. [+13]

UK peak: #9

Well as we all know the easy way to get a dance hit is to totally rip off an earlier dance hit which got Nathan Dawe some chart action for using Calabria. It was one of the year's most inessential dance hits so can't moan at it being here.

#21. Nicki Minaj ~ Super Freaky Girl [82 points]

Most hated: adrianreavill83, coi, detonate [+15]

UK peak: #5

It seemed that Nicki finally wanted a big hit single again and so recycled the formula from 'Anaconda' making a sample-reliant track alongside having the most explicit lyrics on a song since 'WAP' - certainly worked for her but not everyone on Buzzjack was buying it.

also all of those remaining deserve to be there although I would personally say 'Preu' is alright outside of it hanging about for 84 years.

Edited by Roba!

PSYCHO should NOT still be in but I'm not shocked it is. Glad I'm Good, HISTORY, Sushi and Melody are out already, none of them should've been nominated!
All my big pointers are still in and my only mid pointer to have gone is Sweet Lies which really is woeful - its only saving grace is that it flopped!

#29. Gayle ~ ABCDEFU [60 points]

Most hated: Dancember [+15]

UK peak: #1

But enough people liked it for it to be a UK #1 hit.

They're both in my top 10 of the year and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Thanks TikTok.

PSYCHO should NOT still be in but I'm not shocked it is. Glad I'm Good, HISTORY, Sushi and Melody are out already, none of them should've been nominated!

Joseph almost always right. -_- :P

Super Freaky Girl escaping the top 20 while N95 is still to come is a crime.

There are three others I quite enjoyed still to come but I'm less surprised about those being so high up, otherwise pretty good choices for the top 20.
