Plume looks to be an auxiliary software (including security) for your ISP, check if you have some security settings set up to block websites and either add Buzzjack as an exception or turn it off, your choice.

or try setting up a custom DNS:

Sometimes I can open the website and sometimes it says it's blocked by Plume. This started a month ago and never had this before.
  • 1 year later...

I'm getting this page come up when I open shortcuts/bookmarks to the forum;

It seems if I google BuzzJack I can open the website from there which is strange.

Anyone know anything about this?

The second part is a function of this board still being on http and not https, which I know is horribly insecure but it's what we're on with our current iteration. To which I would recommend that you do not use your Buzzjack password for anything else, as it could be read by attackers relatively easily, be careful with what you share on here and definitely do not enter any payment details anywhere on the forum as we have nothing that is paid for and any page here that is is a site impersonating us. That's just your modern mobile browser warning you of those risks.

I'm not getting that error on my bookmarks for your first post, verify that that bookmark is a correct link, because something in that link was bringing up a page that doesn't exist on the site.

Further to this I have some information that may concern some BuzzJack users...

Those who use iOS devices to access BuzzJack via Safari (iPhone/iPad/iMac) will now find following the release of the latest software update, iOS 18.2, that any links saved as shortcuts or favourites to any page within BuzzJack.com will no longer work and cause the issues I stated above. I attempted to access the same links on an iOS device running the previous software update and they still worked fine, this new update contains some kind of new security protocol within Safari that prevents unsecured websites like BuzzJack from being accessed via bookmarked shortcuts when using the Safari web browser.

I've contacted Apple Support to raise a ticket with this issue in the software update and hopefully a fix will come in the future.

I've found this to be an issue even when manually typing in buzzjack.com on Safari using iOS (typing buzzjack.com/forums works fine), coming up with the 404 error message every time. It's not great, but there are workarounds.
I'm having issues too since the IOS update - I can't get on to the site on my mobile at all now, not even from google

Yeah this is going to be a problem for the modern BuzzJack user who uses iOS mobile devices... :(

What are the chances of Phil upgrading the website's security certificates in the future?

Looks like this is something you can turn off in the settings for Safari.

Presumably if you toggle off 'Not Secure Connection Warning' it'll work fine. (The page does specifically say this was a feature added in iOS 18.2 but it says nothing about it completely blocking http websites).

I've not updated to 18.2 yet myself.

Oh interesting, but I checked my iPhone and it was already toggled off like the image showed.

So presumably I wouldn't want to turn it on in this instance but the first time you access BuzzJack on Safari after the iOS update it presents you with the warning message regardless.

I also can't get on it anymore on mobile having upgraded to iOS 18.2.

The 'Not Secure Connection Warning' toggle makes no difference for me.

Assuming quite a few here use iPhones so yes, the security certificates will need updating as all the other forums I sometimes browse are all fine.

Ah, just realised the opposite works for me. I toggled 'Not Secure Connection Warning' on just now and the 'This Connection Is Not Secure' screen comes up each time I open a BuzzJack page, but if you press continue then the site opens.

Tried that but still getting the blue screen messaged screenshotted above.

Please keep us updated Iz with the website certificate upgrades.

It's not gonna be an immediate fix but have been talking with Phil - will be a work in progress!

Ah sorry I think I misinterpreted this, yeah I think it needs to be on and then you can just click through the warning screen.

(I have no idea what the other error message is about, I don't think that one has anything to do with the non-secure protocol?)

I get the same blue screen message as Wardy - and if I try to access it from google I get this:
