Taylor will release Speak Now Taylor's version and 1989 Taylor's version, scoring two more number 1 albums...

Olivia Rodrigo & Ariana Grande next singles debut at #1

Stormzy another #1 with high profile collab

DaBaby top 10 hit

MNEK solo top 20 hit

HAZEY will get another hit with a fellow UK rap artist

gnash will have a song blow up on tiktok and get another long-running top 10 hit

Sam Feldt another top 10 with tiktok sound of the summer

LadBaby 6th #1 collaboration with Jess Glynne

LadBaby does not release a sixth single - but does something else instead for the Trussell Trust next year. Wham! get the Christmas No.1, just.

Eurovision hype hits fever pitch due to the UK hosting and loads of entries chart. The UK itself does ok and the entry is a moderate low top 10/top 20 hit.

Lewis Capaldi's album is No.1 but fades far more quickly than his last and sells only a third of that.

A small 90s hit blows up out of nowhere on TikTok and goes top 10.

Ed Sheeran gets another No.1 from a new album, but this time it's his only one.

Lil Nas X is back with another platinum hit.

A few of my own...

Raye's Escapism to be the first new #1 of the year.

SZA's Kill Bill, Central Cee (urgh), Bugzy Malone & Metro Boomin/The Weeknd to score top 10s after the Christmas clear out.

Rihanna will have a proper comeback after that soundtrack let down with a studio album full of huge bops announced after her Superbowl performance. She will tour again too and gain another #1 single and album.

Another unexpected #1 from a chart veteran in the vein of Elton John or Kate Bush and maybe this time even with a brand new recording that in some way manages to go viral.

Harry Styles, Arctic Monkeys & Taylor Swift to perform at Glastonbury.

Take That release new material and announce a tour, but not sure with how many members involved.

New material from Billie Eilish, maybe just pre-album singles building towards an album release in 2024 similar to Happier Than Ever.

A new studio album from Dua Lipa.

High selling debut week for the Lewis Capaldi album, but won't have the longevity of his last era and as such no additional #1 single in tandem. More of a Beyonce Renaissance chart run than a Harry's House.

More than one Drake mixtape or album release, a load of old shit but album bombs streaming services anyway.

Central Cee gets a #1 single at some point this year (sadly).

Dance music continues to diversify, with more different sub-genres producing high charting hits.

If LadBaby fails to get to #1 this week then they do not release next year. If they get #1 with a much reduced total this year then they release again next year but thankfully finally come undone anyway. Mariah and Wham replicate their yo-yo in the December charts again which is expected and tedious.

Here's an interesting one to ponder, maybe Apple decides to shut down the iTunes store completely, focusing entirely on their streaming services and effectively putting the final nail in the coffin for the download market. Not beyond the realms of possibility?

EDIT: Also agree with gooddelta, Lil Nas X to have another big hit.

It's pretty much impossible for Arctic Monkeys, Taylor & Harry to all perform at Glasto now seeing as they'd all be headliners, and Elton John has already taken up 1 of the 3 slots!

Oops I thought Elton was the 'legend'.

In that case i'll predict Elton, AM & Harry.

Ellie Goulding will get a 4th number one album.

Jess Glynne will not reach the highs of success as previous..

Paloma Faith will return with new music and be well received.

Rihanna will get a number one album and single.

Lady Gaga will release a new song to high success.

Ed Sheeren will release a decent album for once but will not be as successful as previous.

N Dubz will get a number one album.

House Music and Pop will start taking over Rap and Hip hop even more

Bloody Mary will also be a top 20 hit.

Isn't Taylor touring the US when Glastonbury happens?
Isn't Taylor touring the US when Glastonbury happens?

yep... plus she said she won't do it until all her re-records are done, which fair enough she might do before the tour starts, but yeah shes touring in the us when glastonbury is on

- RAYE gets the first #1 single of 2022 a la abcdefu except it doesn't get blocked in the first week by a reset old #1

- off the back of Escapism. her debut album does well and goes #1 too, a big f*ck you to her old label polydor

- Joel Corry & Ella Henderson release a song but, like HISTORY and Lionheart it doesn't do very well

- Central Cee unfortulately gets his first #1 single

- Taylor releases Speak Now TV in early 2023, Jan-March time, and it goes #1. 1989 TV comes out in the peak of summer and has huge opening week, possibly as big as Midnights

- Doja Cat & Lil Nas X both kick off new album eras and have at least one hit each

- Dua Lipa releases her 3rd album and it becomes the best selling album of the year, plus a #1 single

- Sam Smith & Ed Sheeran's collab is expected to do well but ends up underperforming, the Sam Smith album also underperforms but has another decent sized hit like Diamonds

- Ed Sheeran releases '-' but it doesn't do as well as '=', though he still gets another #1 single

- Rihanna releases a smash single before her superbowl performance followed by a new album

- Jess Glynne makes a return

- Clean Bandit end up collabing with Jess Glynne or Anne-Marie again because its a formula that works and their new stuff is all rubbish

- Olivia Rodrigo returns and her new album is as big as SOUR

- Little Mix solo singles - all do well except for Jesy

- Lewis Capaldi's album does well but is nowhere near as big as his first one

- Ava Max *fingers crossed* finally gets a hit from her new album smilar in size to Kings & Queens or My Head & My Heart. I can see it being Dancing's Done if it gets sped up viral on tiktok

- Lana's album is a big #1 album, but no singles make the top 40 from it.

- Coi Leray's Players becomes a hit after its recent TikTok virality

- Disney release another musical film, hoping to replicate Encanto's success, but fails

- The Sampling trend continues, and at one stage 1/4 of the top 40 will be songs that contain prominent samples

- Metro Boomin, The Weeknd & 21 Savage's song Creepin' does well in the new year allowing the producer to expand in the uk and become more of a chart regular

- Maneskin's new album is a #1 but they fail to get another top 40 (though i hope this is false and they do actually get another one!)

- P!nks album is a big seller, but she doesn't have a hit out of it like she has in the past. Instead one of her older songs goes viral and that goes back to the top 40 instead

- No new Ariana music this year as she prepares for Wicked, and she prioritises that.

- Miney Cyrus' new era is big, #1 album and top 10 single. She does another Dua Lipa collab

- Anne-Marie releases her 3rd album off the back of PSYCHO's success. There are a few top 40 hits but none as big as PSYCHO

- Heartstopper S2 causes a single from it (hopefully Baby Queen) to take off and go top 40

- Maisie Peters finally makes the Top 40 and starts her 2nd album era, with the album dropping in sept/ october and this time goes #1

- Mimi Webb's single Red Flags, which she's been teasing on tiktok, become sher first top 5 and her biggest hit to date. the album reaches #2 and is fairly successful

- Adele & Ed Sheeran collab in Q4

- SZA has 2 long running hits from SOS, Kill Bill makes the top 5 and another one takes off on tiktok later in the year.

I'll probs come back and add more as i think of them, these were the best ones off the top of my head!

Escapism becomes one of the 10 biggest hits of 2023

Olivia Rodrigo returns with two number ones and a number one album

Downfall of Ed Sheeran

Shock return of Adele

Taylor releases Speak Now TV and 1989 TV both debut with huge sales

FLO become the next big British girlgroup with a shock breakout hit

Little Mix solo singles do better than expected - no number ones though

Number Ones for Billie Eilish, Justin Bieber, Doja Cat and Dua Lipa

Dua sees multiple number one singles, biggest album of the year (at least by a female artist)

I think see more corner done chart update on Sundays 2023 with Joseph gone more show on Sunday 2023

Haha this just depends on when I happen to be busy on Sundays! :kink:

Ed Sheeran finally releases an album called '-'.

X Factor will announce it's return and they will mean business.

Real and proper dance music resembling the turn of the 21st century dominates the top 40.

A really really massive bonafide music legend will sadly pass away.

LadBaby tries for six Christmas number 1s in a row, finally misses out.

Edited by zenon

Escapism will surely be in the Top 20 of the year at least - Gayle made it this year and that was much more of a fad song.

Intrigued by the Sheeran “downfall” prediction - is he going to be knocked out by KSI as well as LadBaby?

I will never not be baffled by zenon's continued tirades about undefined 'real and proper dance music'
