Not complaining but I haven’t seen this mentioned on their socials yet, unless I’m missing something.

I guess this really was just a Christmas present for the fans.

It seems like it’d be a great opening track to me.

Listening through all of it as a piece of work I really got the Siobhan's songwriting stamp on all of the songs! She's a brilliant and a very underrated songwriter (not to diminish the talent of Keisha and Mutya ofc - but they got much more of a limelight).

It’s also great to hear Siobhan’s vocals on more music.

Oh I love the new mix of Summer of 99 - they've de-Disneyfied it!

Oh the new mix of Victory is amazing! I never bothered with it in the leaks, so it just goes to show you how much proper production / final mixing can improve a song.

A couple of these names a proper throwbacks.

It has a proper streak of Sugababes DNA running through it in all of the best ways

Also confirmation, this is an independent release

Didn't expect anything else tbh with Flatline reappearing as ©Sugababes. It's obvious they just want to have the MKS material out there, but they probably don't want it to be considered as their "comeback" album either since most tracks are a decade old and maybe a bit out of date in today's market. They obviously don't care where (or if) this charts - otherwise they'd arrange for physical copies to go along with this.

I am so insanely excited to dive in this morning — I have managed to avoid most of the leaks all these years.

eeee

On my second start to finish play through now, up to Beat Is Gone.

I don’t know if this is early enjoyment talking or not but it’s firmly in my top half of their albums right now.

I'd say it's up there among their best - it really feels like an "album" and not just a compilation of tracks now that they've all been properly mastered. It just makes me sad that it'll never be properly promoted but c'est la vie.

True, though I guess in hindsight that ship sailed when so many of these leaked in 2016. As much as I’d love this to be successful for them I’d still take this gift over nothing. :) As I’m sure we all would.

Yeah, I mean, I think they've made the right decision to put it out like this as I can't imagine radio etc being receptive towards material recorded a decade ago (and let's face it - some of them sound very on trend for that era) and in addition to that leaked half a decade ago. I imagine if the next music they'll release they'll start from scratch and do a proper promo cycle for it. I just hope we'll eventually get some form of low key physical release of The Lost Tapes.

Yeah I agree, I doubt radio would touch much of this, despite the goodwill I think they’ve built up. Best save it for a new release. Hopefully January will see us get a physical of this.

Also it’s taking me a while to adjust to the new version of I Lay Down. I loved the Swimming Pools version, that is incredible.
