Steps released Chain Reaction on 24th September 2001, making it a quarter of a century since its release!

The song debuted at its peak of #2, losing out to Kylie’s Can’t Get You Out Of My Head (which was on its second week at the top!)

I must say I did love this song and the video was pretty fun too! Definitely one of their better covers in my opinion!

Wow did not know it was Kylie who kept them off #1! I remember buying it and the Kylie one a few weeks later so I must have been late to the Kylie train lol. 😂

Yeah it was literally Kylie Vs Victoria, her second “big” chart battle in a row. Sadly, that one turned out to be rather a damp squib!

I’m happy that Chain reaction got them to #2 and became a well-sized hit (they needed it a little bit).

Though it’s far from a bad Steps track, I find it a bit overrated
