February 14, 20232 yr I think the big stage will boost it and hopefully it can do enough to qualify, i genuinely like the song but i was the same with Brooke last year and look how she did.
February 14, 20232 yr Quite like this actually. Sort of reminds me of Joe and Jake, the UK entry in 2016
February 15, 20232 yr Quite like this actually. Sort of reminds me of Joe and Jake, the UK entry in 2016 Haha and remember what happened there... 2023 is shaping up to be year of the bands. Edited February 15, 20232 yr by Megan_
February 19, 20232 yr I think the chorus of we are one is much bigger than Joe and Jakes UK entry. Id be just happy to see Ireland qualify this year.
February 20, 20232 yr I think the chorus of we are one is much bigger than Joe and Jakes UK entry. Id be just happy to see Ireland qualify this year. Debatable Tonight, we are one We are one When we rise, we rise like the sun When we go down, we go down, we go down, we go down vs You're not alone, we're in this together All that you want, I'm right here forever And they don't need to know, oh oh oh And they don't need to know :nocheer:
March 14, 20232 yr A revamped version has been released which I definitely prefer. Seems to give it bit more oomph. RhLbeMvDrY8
March 15, 20232 yr I like the Irish entry but it’s in the bottom 5 on My Eurovision Scoreboard so it’s not hitting a chord with ESC fans. Would love to see it qualify but I think they will struggle.
March 18, 20232 yr I think it would be just about tolerable if it wasn't for the over descriptive lyrics in the verses. Edited March 18, 20232 yr by Colm
March 22, 20232 yr I hadnt heard the songs prior to eurosong and if I heard the studio version of this first it would have gone over my head but the live version stuck with me after hearing it especially the chorus but it's very hard to know how it will go down on the night. I do prefer Brooke and I thought she nailed her semi performance last year and look how that turned out.
March 22, 20232 yr Not keen on this and performing 2nd in the stronger semifinal doesn’t bode well for it. No doubt Scott and Rylan will make out that it’s a huge shock if they don’t qualify as usual. ;)
March 22, 20232 yr I’m actually confused as to why this is ranked so lowly. It’s decent enough and has an anthemic chorus
March 22, 20232 yr I’m actually confused as to why this is ranked so lowly. It’s decent enough and has an anthemic chorus Semi-final 1 is extremely competitive. It's the definition of mediocre and half as anthemic as they think. Middle of the road, safe, and utterly boring. It’s nothing like their discography because they wrote it with Eurovision in mind. There is no UK or Australia to vote for them. Edited March 22, 20232 yr by xMx
March 22, 20232 yr I’m actually confused as to why this is ranked so lowly. It’s decent enough and has an anthemic chorus When your best defence of it is it's 'decent enough' that is not a good sign...!
March 23, 20232 yr Agreed, but given its 'decent enough' qualities, there is a... danger... that it scores wide televote appeal somehow if they come across charismatic, but I do hope the continent isn't into encouraging these sort of sub-Coldplay/1D efforts. More likely though it'll be completely memory-holed by just about everything that comes after it because going this basic really does hurt your chances of leaving an impression compared to the competition.
March 23, 20232 yr I’m actually confused as to why this is ranked so lowly. It’s decent enough and has an anthemic chorus I like this and keep going back to it, but at best it’s The Script circa 2013, good but dated.
