March 7, 20232 yr This thread is going to age like milk if this isn't a huge #1 hit (which I am really not understanding the mass overconfidence about - obviously it might be but it's been a while since the last time people on here hyped a song up so much before it was even released, I thought we'd learned to not do that any more because it's never that predictable x)
March 7, 20232 yr I don’t think it’s being hyped up too much. Calvin obviously has a history of bringing out big chart smashes so don’t think it’s unreasonable to for people to think it’ll do well. Personally I’m just hoping for a long running Top 10 hit and #1 would be a bonus.
March 7, 20232 yr Do we know that its the Eurovision or are you just theorising? Insiders and signs pointing to it! One insta comment doewn't invalidate!
March 7, 20232 yr Author Here's what I think about the recent flops / minor hits: I Found You -> Both Calvin and Benny Blanco had a hit the time it got released ("Promises" and "Eastside") I'm Not Alone (Camelphat Remix) -> Released for celebration purpose. Don't see why it should be a proper hit Over Now -> I didn't remember the hype at all when it was first teased, despite how big both artists were. New Money & New To You -> No MVs, plus "Potion" and "Stay With Me" existed. Meanwhile "Miracle", it's teased when the Funk Wav Vol. 2 era is over and it's been 9 years since we had a Calvin x Ellie collab. The hype also existed. If it flops really hard (somewhere lower than Calvin x Weeknd collab), I don't know who should be blamed. Edited March 7, 20232 yr by Cow Cow

Have you not read the thread? :kink: (tbf looking back I see most of the more hyperbolic posts were all made by the same poster). I'm sure it should do well, just saying the bar has been set so high with some of the posts in the thread that it's setting people up to think it underperformed if it's 'only' a top 10 hit or whatever even if it is the biggest hit either artist has had for a while. Calvin is not the consistently dominant chart force he once was and Ellie is not a chart force at all any more.

One person claiming it’s going to debut at #1 doesn’t classify as ‘mass overconfidence’ to me. I think people are just excited about his return to the bigger anthem type tracks, which always do well (By Your Side/Giant/Promises/One Kiss). Ellie is 100% a flop nowadays so I’m sure people will blame her if it doesn’t perform well.
March 7, 20232 yr If this is for Wyrovision, it WILL be no.1!! Lrt's hope they hsve tesmed up!! Orherwise, this trance track is a return ro mega trance! People will FLOCK to stream it.
March 7, 20232 yr RIP next week's Friday Chart Predictions thread I guess x About the song itself, it's been teased a lot (or the TikTok algorithim is just gearing towards it as I've liked a few vids :kink:) and is pretty much online to hear in its entirety (albeit live) which should help it come Friday.
March 8, 20232 yr Think it also depends on the support it gets playlist wise (Will it get insta added to HH quite high? Will it get added to AM’s Today’s hits and hot songs high up?)
March 8, 20232 yr sure it will be added to playlists just cos Calvin's name (not on the back of poor Elena) but realistically if it debuts top 20 that's already a big achievement considering Calvin is past his peak, this is not in the same vein as One Kiss/Promises but more like 90s trance and let's not forget Ellie is nowadays a sorta anti-Midas of chart music sadly...
March 8, 20232 yr A lot of people have been waiting for the return of trance to the charts, so I'm very intrigued as to how this does. Hopefully very well, even if not straight away, because the 1 minute clip and piano riff has been stuck in my head since I heard it.

I feel like 'Strong' indicated the potential start of this trend making a resurgence (even though that criminally didn't chart in the end), so I am here for it! (Until the trend becomes really oversaturated and watered down anyway)
March 9, 20232 yr (Adam Wiles, BURNS, Ellie Goulding, Pablo Bowman, Peter Rycroft) Produced by Calvin Harris & BURNS Following the trending of 'miss you' high bpm Edited March 9, 20232 yr by JOTA
March 9, 20232 yr Following the trending of 'miss you' high bpm No. Let's not compare it to that  It's a trance song so inevitably has a higher BPM Interesting that BURNS is involved, wonder why he's not credited
