Assuming it's just a glitch that the artist name for 'METAMORPHOSIS' has changed (it's the INTERWORLD song). Unless that is an artist name change but doesn't look like it, I think it's just got confused in the system with a random new release with the same title.

 

Somewhat happy to see Wet Leg getting a decent BRITs boost but god can people discover they have more than just these 2 gimmick songs please xx

It's so strange :( At least the rise on spotify prompted Apple and Amazon to give it more playlist support and it's risen quite a bit on there.

 

"Trustfall" has decent playlist support on spotify and is on Hot Hits UK so I don't understand how it's dropped so hard, especially as it fell below "Never Gonna Not Dance Again". Granted today's update has a lot of BRITS related boosts and some Rihanna songs climbing (more will likely climb/re-enter in tomorrow's update). So perhaps when the BRITS/Rihanna Superbowl boosts fade later in the week it'll climb up quite a bit on spotify?

Apple Music: #61 (reached a new peak of #59 briefly before some Rihanna tracks overtook)

Amazon: #29 (non-prime chart)/#39 (prime chart)

 

I'm hoping it'll gain a lot on spotify as the week goes on and the BRITS/Rihanna boosts fade. P!nk is releasing her album on Friday and performing "Trustfall" on Graham Norton - so hopefully those will also boost the song. And perhaps Spotify will add the song to more playlists/Today's Top Hits.

 

It's almost certainly just the same case as Sabrina Carpenter and Stephen Sanchez i.e. it was aided by being heavily favoured in the autoplay algorithm for a brief period of time and then that was pulled away for whatever reason. It is a shame that it's fallen all the way out of the top 200 but not really surprised (I did say #78 seemed surprisingly high after its first day of dropping, but the dropoff seems to have been over the span of a few days rather than all on one day like those two). Remember people suspected this would be the case right from when it first entered! These dodgy autoplay boosts so far seem to always be pretty short-lived.

 

Hopefully it'll still have a decent chart run as her songs usually do anyway, just with a slightly inflated peak. (Unless it actually does take off a lot more for more legitimate reasons which I hope it still might).

That's good, especially considering all the Rihanna songs ahead of it. Fingers crossed it'll rise a lot more in the coming days!

I have a feeling that Niall will put up a fight next week, I know his recent releases haven't done well and he's never gotten that high before but it has a lot of Tik Tok hype and goodwill behind him. I could be wrong though! A hard one to call.
