0800 Heaven has replaced Hell N Back this week in the YTD Top 100.

I don’t think Padam Padam will hold - its streams have dropped off sharply since the album boost.

A real shame that both Kylie and P!nk could likely miss out. It feels weird to think that despite 'Padam Padam's' success and notching up a top 10 for Kylie, it's still going to miss!

Loreen looking safe though!

that’ll be a shame but at least Kylie has the moral end of year hit in the world where the OCC has some restrictions on the old shit that sticks around every year

and we’ll play her as a bonus in the buzzjack end of year chart rundown too of course

Given that the Brit Award for Song of the Year bases its nominations on sales, I suppose the nominees are currently looking to be:

Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding

Dave & Central Cee - Sprinter

Dua Lipa - Dance The Night

Ed Sheeran - Eyes Closed

Jazzy - Giving Me

Lewis Capaldi - Pointless

PinkPantheress - Boy’s A Liar

Raye feat. 070 Shake - Escapism

Switch Disco & Ella Henderson - React

Venbee & Goddard - Messy In Heaven

and the International Song nomineees:

David Kushner - Daylight

Libianca - People

Lizzy McAlpine - Ceilings

Metro Boomin’, The Weeknd & 21 Savage - Creepin’

Miley Cyrus - Flowers

Olivia Rodrigo - Vampire

Rema - Calm Down

Stephen Sanchez - Until I Found You

SZA - Kill Bill

Tiesto & Tate McRae - 10:35

I assume they wouldn't include 'Cruel Summer'?

Really interesting! Thanks for doing the analysis. A bit ridiculous these days as songs released towards the end of the year are automatically excluded!

1989 TV up to #8 in the YTD albums and Lewis is out of the Top 10.

In the singles Snooze and Easy On Me have re-entered, replacing Lavender Haze and Rush.

I've looked through the Year-to-date Albums Top 100 chart from 10th November and here are a few stats:

Only 17 albums released in 2023 are in the Top 100. One of those is a compilation album (Post Malone - The Diamond Collection) and two are re-recordings (the Taylor's Versions of 1989 and Speak Now).

8. Taylor Swift - 1989 (Taylor's Version) [Re-recording of 2014 studio album]

11. Lewis Capaladi - Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent

19. Ed Sheeran - -

21. Olivia Rodrigo - GUTS

23. Taylor Swift - Speak Now (Taylor's Version) [Re-recording of 2010 studio album]

28. P!nk - TRUSTFALL

37. Post Malone - The Diamond Collection [Compilation]

41. Lana Del Rey - Did you know that there's a tunnel under ocean blvd

48. The Rolling Stones - Hackney Diamonds

49. Travis Scott - Utopia

58. Tom Grennan - What Ifs & Maybes

69. Miley Cyrus - Endless Summer Vacation

85. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - Council Skies

89. Foo Fighters - But Here We Are

91. Nines - Crop Circle 2

94. Luke Combs - Gettin' Old

100. Kylie Minogue - Tension

35 albums - Compilations/Greatest Hits (including 1 released in 2023, 5 in 2022 and 2 in 2021)

27 albums - Studio albums released prior to the 2020s decade (the oldest, The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd, was released in 1973. 2 are 1970s albums, 2 1990s albums, 7 2000s albums & 16 2010s albums) [this doesn't include the four Taylor's Versions]

16 albums - Studio albums released in 2023 (including two Taylor's Versions of albums originally released in 2010 and 2014)

9 albums - Studio albums released in 2022

8 albums - Studio albums released in 2021 (including two Taylor's Versions of albums originally released in 2008 and 2012)

5 albums - Studio albums released in 2020

A weekly reminder that SOS is basically a 2023 album being released Dec 9 last year.

GUTS will definitely make the top 20 - amazing feat!

I'm only just seeing this and like... this is why y'all need a recurrent rule in the charts (holiday songs aside) I'm not even sure Cupid is in the top 100 for the EOY and that was a top 10 :manson:

That works both ways though doesn't it? Was it only a top 10 hit because of ACR freeing up space? Certainly it's a recipe for making songs appear to be bigger hits than they are. Though I think also in this case it highlights that the differing longevity of songs after leaving the top 40/top 100 is not insignificant.

Cupid is very safely Top 100 FWIW, though its chart sales can’t be more than 5k per week now.

I find it interesting observing the differing fortunes of 2023 hits in the YTD chart once they’ve left the weekly chart. Take Ceilings and Players, both early year low Top 10 hits. The former is still doing 6-7k chart sales per week and looking very safe for the year end Top 40, while the latter can only be doing 2-3k per week the way it’s tumbling down the YTD chart. I’m not sure why 3x more people are now listening to one than the other.

Actually yes, according to JulianT's handy ACR-less chart estimate it was #11.

I want to say a key difference might be that "ceilings" was doing pretty strong numbers on its own before the viral turn. Source: I started tracking its daily global streams back in Sep 2022 because I wanted to see if it was pacing to be Lizzy's most streamed song and in doing so, saw it bubbling up in real time waiting to explode. I was surprised at how quickly "Players" dissipated but it was still pretty fresh when it first charted, so it hadn't established a steady audience in the same way.

Ah thanks! I took a look at the chart when it peaked at #8 but couldn't tell for sure how many songs were getting pushed under.
