Biography

Liberating grime from its London domicile in the mid-2010s, Bugzy Malone firmly implanted Manchester on the UK rap map with confessional storytelling in an unmistakable Mancunian gruff. Born Aaron Davis in Greater Manchester in 1990 to a single-parent mother, a young Bugzy Malone followed in his uncle’s criminal footsteps. After being expelled from school and enduring homelessess as a teen, Malone finally escaped Manchester street life after a prison sentence at the age of 16 served as a catalyst. Turning his life around as an amateur boxer before deciding upon a full-time career in rap, Malone released his introspective debut EP, Walk With Me, in 2015, a territorial reworking of grime whose title track installed his area’s calling code (0161) as a regional rap mantra. Its follow-up, 2016’s Facing Time, found Malone wrestling with the rigors of fame and unbosoming himself of traumatic stress, themes he would expand upon in 2017’s resolute declaration of provincial sovereignty, King of the North. Malone’s independent success was ratified in 2018 with his first full-length album, B. Inspired, a proper fusion of grime, Afro-swing, speed garage, and hip-hop, typified by “Die By the Gun,” a reflective third-person tale of the turbulent Manchester street life he fortuitously left behind to become a trailblazer for Northern hip-hop. - Apple Music

Fresh start to the top 20! Mimi making very slow progress so far but can still see it eventually going top 10. Happy to see Coi top 20, outpeaking 'Big Energy' we love to see *.* Shame Libianca looks like she may have peaked already, fingers crossed she can reverse again.

The LAROI song was decent on first listen for me, I do think it has a pretty good chorus, hopefully a grower as it looks likely to be another biggish hit for him. Definitely better than 'Thousand Miles' I'd say. It's probably the most Bieber-ish he's sounded to date!

Lol at The Weeknd #2 and Eminem #5 in the albums *_*

Did The Weeknd have physicals out or is it #2 purely off playlist streams?

playlist streams and having the benefit of the Taylor/SZA albums dying down in hype

sales were very low going off the Wed mids

1 Sam Smith - Gloria (11,999) [8,814 physicals, 2,163 streaming, 1,022 downloads] *

2 Taylor Swift - Midnights (5,190)

3 The Weeknd - The Highlights (4,980)

4 SZA - SOS (4,401)

5 Bob Dylan - Fragments - Time Out of Mind Sessions (1996-1997): The Bootleg Series, Vol. 17 (4,134) *

Did "The Highlights" have some physical release to boost it to #2 or just other albums slowing down?

Everything from #2 downwards are on pitiful sales and extremely close together.

Biography

Away from all the noise of his various successes – 3 UK top 5 albums incl. the platinum-selling, chart-topping Long Way Down; 2 top 10 singles; a 2013 Brit award for Critic's Choice – there's one thing that's always kept Tom Odell grounded: songwriting. A classic songwriter - awarded a prestigious Ivor Novello for Songwriter of the Year in 2014 – relied on his passion more than ever when it came to crafting his new pop-leaning, emotionally-healing fourth album. The whirlwind around his debut had kickstarted a work ethic that became an obsession that culminated in crippling anxiety, leading to a dark period of mental health that stalked most of Odell’s 2018 and 19. Odell wrote his way through it, eventually letting down his guard and pouring out his feelings. These broader lyrical horizons needed to be matched by a musical expansion, with a lot of the songs on the new album leaning into a more DIY, electronic, bedroom pop sound. The love of this new direction chimed with the pandemic's arrival and songs were crafted in a more threadbare way around instruments he had at hand, like Moog synths. It was a move underpinned by both necessity and a desire to explore. Four albums into his career and Odell has made a record that feels free of expectation and of other people's perceptions of who he is as an artist. While darkness was the inspiration, this multi-layered, genre-bending pop album is full of light and hope, even in the strangest of times. - Spotify

Biography

“I never really think, ‘OK, I’m going to write a song,’” Lewis Capaldi told Apple Music. “My creative process is basically: I sit down with a guitar and or at the piano, and I just start to write.” But the amazing thing about Capaldi is that he’s become one of the most popular young artists of his generation by preserving his songs in that raw, unvarnished state, to provide the purest representation of the pain and longing coursing through his lyrics. Amid the hyper-paced, totally wired world of late-2010s pop, this unassuming Scottish singer-songwriter and former Up Next artist—born 1996 in Glasgow—stopped the internet dead in its tracks with his DIY 2017 single “Bruises”, a stark, piano-based breakup ballad that introduced a voice imbued with the sort of soulful grit and deeply felt heartache you wouldn’t expect from a baby-faced 21-year-old. “Bruises” was Capaldi’s ticket to international major-label deals and tours opening for pop A-listers like Sam Smith and Niall Horan, but he would swiftly join their ranks with his equally rustic 2018 single “Someone You Loved”, another tear-jerking expression of sorrow—inspired by the death of his grandmother—that went to No. 1 in the US and UK, and has since become one of the most-streamed songs of all time. Those singles formed the foundation of Capaldi’s chart-topping full-length debut, 2019’s Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, which fleshes out his sound with lush orchestration and gospel gravitas but, through songs like the suicide-themed “Before You Go”, retains his fearless flair for dredging up the messiest of emotions. - Apple Music

that chart run is so awful. the #1 is so out of place lmaoooo

when is this due for acr?

Did "The Highlights" have some physical release to boost it to #2 or just other albums slowing down?

The Highlights has has full physicals out since Nov 2021 so they are avalible but the majority of sales come from streams, the new video stream addition to chart sale counting must help since there is nearly a video for each track

"Pointless" chart run...
Excluding charity singles, when was the last time a #1 only had one week top 10?

Biography

Tiësto

Born Tijs Michiel Verwest in the small Dutch city of Breda in 1969, Tiësto went on to become more than just a world-famous electronic musician—he largely created the model for a powerhouse DJ in the 21st century. He got his start in the mid-’80s, when the skeletal sounds of Belgian new beat ruled Holland’s clubs, but it was trance—sleeker and more emotive—that moved him. His first proper DJ mix , 1997’s Magik One (First Flight), showcases his signature style in dreamy synth melodies drawn out above tough but streamlined drum grooves. As trance’s foremost ambassador, he pioneered stadium raving with solo DJ concerts in sports arenas; in 2004, he played for millions at the Summer Olympics opening ceremony in Athens. And his Club Life weekly radio show and mix series, one of trance’s premier global platforms, became synonymous with the genre itself. But you don’t become the world’s No. 1 DJ by sitting still. By 2011’s Club Life: Volume One Las Vegas, Tiësto was following through on a shift that had begun with his 2009 album, Kaleidoscope, a blend of high-energy trance and airy pop melodies that heralded the next big rave revolution: EDM. With 2014’s A Town Called Paradise, he made good on EDM’s anything-goes promise with a collection encompassing soaring toplines, massive drops, and other big-room thrills without turning his back on the aching melodies that made his name. As the decade drew to a close, playful collabs with a new generation of producers who had come up in his wake—The Chainsmokers, Oliver Heldens, DJ Snake, Hardwell—only served to confirm his versatility and cement his legacy. - Apple Music

Tate McRae

A Canadian singer and dancer, Tate McRae makes emotive, intimate alternative pop. Following her viral emergence in 2017, she released her debut EP, 2020's All the Things I Never Said, featuring the Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell co-write "Tear Myself Apart." She had her first Billboard Top 20 hit with "You Broke Me First" from 2021's Too Young to Be Sad EP. McRae delivered her debut album, I Used to Think I Could Fly, the following year. - Apple Music

does this mean Pointless is heading for ACR already?

Good chance its streams actually increased when it dropped 1-12 I would think so it might have one more week?

18-16-14-13. When this will be top 10? Tiesto deserves another top 10. :D
