I wondered if Bruno Mars might re-enter - he may as well be given a reset at the rate they're being handed out  Kill Bill heading for a 5th week in a row at #3, then maybe a record 6th next week...

23 years since the first hit by P!nk, so in Madonna terms (the benchmark for pop female relevance imo) she's nearly as far into her chart career as when Madonna released 4 Minutes (that was 24 years). This is crazy longevity for any act, but when you consider the seismic shift in the music industry of the last two decades - physicals to downloads to streaming - it's astonishing that she's still racking up multiple top 40 hits.

I continue to be impressed by her ongoing relevance. Hopefully Radio 1 do get on board with Trustfall as this one does sound like one they would play.

I was hoping and banking on RAYE to do it in the albums, but in all honesty I'm good with either of them!

That’s pretty much me. :)

Wow that really does make it even more impressive when you put it like that!

There are personally signed copies for RAYE at Banquet Records!! :cheer:

Its strange. It really doesn't seem that long, but at the same time feel like she's been around for ages.

Just CD’s left!

Nah I refuse to believe this is accurate.

more than 20 years having hits is impressive for Pink, I thought she was gonna struggle from now on judging by how hard it's been for Never Gonna Not Dance

Again to go top 40 but Trustfall is such an earworm, could go top 10 I reckon!

that said Madonna's top 40 span in the UK charts is 31 years so far (same as Kylie I believe I read that the other day)

so still a bit to go for Pink

...and even further to Kate Bush's span of 44 years, between #1s in fact!

Even if restricted to new songs, Kate had a Top 75 as recently as 2011 (33 years since her debut) and a Top 10 in 2005 (27 years), outspanning Madonna in both cases. Although timespans don't tell the full story of course.

Madonna does indeed have 31 years between top 40 hits from Holiday (1984) to Living For Love (2015).

Kylie has 30 years between ISBSL (1988) and Dancing (2018).

Pink currently on 23 years between There You Go (2000) and NGNDA (2023).

Elton John has 51 years between Your Song (1971) and Hold Me Closer (2022)- possibly a record if you discount straight re-releases.

Impressively as well, Pink has had at least one top 40 hit for every year from 2016-2023, so her relevance is absolutely still there. In fact the only years she hasn't charted since her debut have been 2004 and 2014/15 when i'm guessing she was between albums and not releasing anything.

^ Cher has 48 years between I Got You Babe (1965) and I Hope You Find It (2013), so P!nk, Kylie & Madonna have a long way to go.

That second paragraph is an amazing stat. Didn’t know that. Thanks for sharing,

Unless I'm missing something, she didn't have one in 2022? Also, her top 40 hits in 2020 and 2021 only just scraped in at #40 and #39 respectively so it's maybe not as impressive a stat as it sounds. Not that I'm trying to knock her achievements as I'm a massive fan of her but I wouldn't call her relevant as a current singles artist. That said, it would be great to see her with top simultaneous top 40 hits on Friday, and I hope 'Trustfall' blows up like it deserves to!

Good to see Freya Ridings and Rita Ora on the climb too, I'm really rooting for the females this week!

Yes i'll admit I was stretching things a bit with that fact given it includes #39 and #40 placings but tbh in the streaming era just making the top 40 is pretty impressive. 2022 also does indeed kill the streak, misread a date there! :kink:

But that's not to say she hasn't had bigger hits in recent years. In fact interestingly she's had multi-week top 10s in 2017, 2019 and 2021 (the latter being a duet). So if Trustfall is coming to be big, maybe there's just something about odd ending years for Pink these days.

Her 2021 song with Rag’n’Bone Man (which she’s credited on as a co-lead artist) hit #9, so that’s a better stat for that year.

You’re right about 2022 though, unless they’re counting ‘Never Gonna Not Dance Again’ at it released that year.
