These clips really aren’t serving, for me… :(

 

I have to be honest, I tried to cancel my 2LP yesterday, but I discovered that Townsend has already processed it and arranged the tracking details for it, so it can’t be cancelled now. So at least she’s secured that sale from me. :kink:

 

I know I don’t sound supportive, but I feel like this is an album that I should really stream first and see if I like it enough to want physicals / spend money. Oh well, fingers crossed I do enjoy the album and appreciate the vinyl.

Wow, they’re sorting them quickly. I think I was able to cancel my marble vinyl earlier in the week.

I thought the quality of production would at least be better than these clips suggest. 😬 I have no problems with covers and I anticipated them suiting Claire down to the ground, but alas it doesn’t seem like they do. This is serving Energize records. :drama:

At least Energise Records tend to be funny to be fair.

I think short term the album will be OK but will have little replay value, more an album for the collection rather than for the love of the album itself but we havnt heard it all yet so we have to give it a chance.

It seems like a ‘adding nothing new’ to the original cover album. Not trying to diss Claire btw. I was hoping for more original material..

Im surprised she hasnt put at least 1 or 2 originals on the album.

Seems like a missed opportunity.

 

On the other hand..she seems to enjoy the project (she looks great I must say) so good for her. I’m curious about her changes for the top 10 atm with us not being that impressed this far.

I do hope she can still go top 10 and think she will manage it.

If she can reach the ‘mum’* audience I think she will.

If some of these covers had bombastic sounding production like for example 'To the Beat of My Heart' that might've helped elevate them enormously, but they're just so... limp. And that's being kind.

Almighty remixes would go down well now.

The album looks potentially a misfire with her fans.

 

I’ve tried to remain positive with this album, but with each passing day I’m sliding more and more into the meh category with it.

 

I’ll give it a stream on Friday night but it may be my only one sadly.
