I’ve cancelled one as well. Kept the double LP and test pressing… for now.

Latter might make me some dollar down the line if I need it to…

What's the purpose of doing a song exactly like the original, only with cheaper production?

Like, I could get it if Euphoria was some unknown undiscovered gem, but it's probably one of the most famous Eurovision songs in the past decade.

It does seem like an odd choice... it makes it come across like karaoke! :o

I cancelled the cassette (£12.99), the picture disc and deluxe CD. I noticed that the picture disc has increased from £21.99 to £24.99 and the deluxe CD has increased from £18.99 to £19.99, since I ordered them on Amazon.

I think it'll be a case of me keeping an eye on the deluxe CD in the weeks/months after release, and eventually getting it if it significantly falls in price. Even if I end up liking the album, I can't see myself being enthused enough to re-order the cassette or picture disc at reduced prices.

Honestly I'm even contemplating cancelling my order of the 2LP vinyl/signed picture from the official store... it's £36.50 with postage, and that feels excessive for the quality of music Claire appears to be serving up for us.

I know this might seem like an overreaction but hmm, it suddenly dawned on me that spending approaching £100 on formats of this album is just... not something I feel like doing anymore.

I don’t understand why she’s gone down the “cheap” route. It’s not something I would expect from her.

I can’t help but feeling she may regret this era in time gone by.

Such a shame to see comments like this. I would much prefer an album of new music. The cover of Euphoria does sound like a poor imitation :(

I mean, there's "done on the cheap" and "sounds like something Energise Records would turn their nose up at releasing". This cover falls in the latter category.

It brings nothing new to the table, not even in the sense that it would bring the song to a wider audience. It's one thing to do a note-for-note cover of something that's a bit unknown, but this is just lazy with subpar production.

To think I made that comment about being in her Jane McDonald era as a joke!

Be careful what you wish for lol!

euphoria really is a waste of a cover, it offers nothing new at all apart from cheaper production as others have mentioned.
Gloria sounds like the best one so far but the bar has been so low that… it would have been difficult anyway.
