I wonder when she recorded it. Was it before or after she left Polydor?

I believe it was early last year in LA with Tayla Parx, don’t quote me on that though

Jesy also posted a link to women’s aid in the bio incase anyone is affected by the video. I’m guessing as the video is about her mum and dad, her mum suffered some sort of abuse :(

Jesy’s latest story getting ready for promo.

So I think it sounds a bit like a wannabe Billie Eilish/RAYE.

Maybe it builds? It sounds a bit too raw from the preview.

I kinda want her to do okay as I think she's had far too much hate, but I don't warm to her. I didn't even think she was that interesting in Bake Off and she was supposed to be the obligatory cr@p one providing the laughs.

It absolutely irks me how every little mix member go into those ridiculous accents every time they talk.

Jesy's holding a private screening of the 'Bad Thing' music video at an old theatre in London, in attendance are her family and friends.

So cute seeing them post pictures of her nephews saying how proud they are.

She's put A LOT of effort into this single, fair play, especially as an independent artist!

Well my nice thing to say is that it at least isn't chasing after a TikTok hit.

With that said, I wonder what her expectations are for this single? She should really put up album pre-orders at this point if she wants to get it out.

No shade to her but it almost feels like a parody???

Like hiring out a theatre with custom menus for your music video premiere. Its a bit Rebecca Black circa 2010

Pretty bad single.

Won't be a hit. I wonder if she's going to have a hit one day. It won't happen with that "bad thing".

She worked with Women's Aid on the video

@1646606102988050453

'Women's Aid, who collaborated with her on the narrative of the visual, praised the singer in a statement.

They said: "We thank Jesy for using the music video for Bad Thing to signpost support for women who may be affected by domestic abuse.

"Jesy’s video shows her character not explicitly leaving at the end, and we know from our work with survivors of domestic abuse that this is a reality for many with as many as 1.7 million women experiencing domestic abuse in the UK and Wales last year alone.

"Jesy’s video highlights that it is not easy to leave an abusive relationship and for women using our network of services across the country, the average length of time in abusive relationships before leaving is just over six years."

The spokesperson continued: "There will no doubt be many people watching the video who will be living this for real and knowing that there are people who understand and will believe you, and that there is help out there, can be the difference between life and death.

"You don’t have to be married or living with someone for it to count as domestic abuse – if you are living in fear of your partner, if they are controlling you and you feel trapped, you can get support from Women’s Aid to safely leave when the time is right for you."

Love that she's spreading awareness and showing the world what it was like growing up in an abusive family.

Just heard it.

If you’re into the Billie Eilish sound, it should work for you. But I’m just not into that vibe (it’s way too boring and bland for me, personally). It kinda reminds me of one of those tracks that I would probably have down as a hit for another artist but get confused when it isn’t one for her even though to me it’s not that much different? (If that makes sense)

The song just fails to go anywhere and like I said previously, her voice just isn’t for me in solo form.

Jesy is on The One Show tomorrow, I didn't hear them say she was performing on the clip when they announced though! So maybe take the performing bit with a pinch of salt.

The song is not bad. It's better than a lot of what I hear on the radio nowadays anyway.

Will it do well? Difficult to tell, as that's dependent on a lot of factors - including playlisting.

I would rather stream this than the commercial success that is Bad Guy.

Had there been no blackfishing drama and the relationship breakdown with the other girls, this would have had decent success if it was her debut. More so with the domestic abuse I hear the video touches on.

Boyz was an error. You don't start your solo career with a sample, and Nicki added absolutely nothing to its chart performance.

She sounds fantastic here for me, and I think it’s pretty great.

The verses aren’t too dissimilar (minus the f bombs) from a typical Little Mix ballad either. The muted reaction online is probably the best she can expect after her antics last year, but I do think this is a really good song.

Oh wowww, I absolutely love this 😭😭😭

I love how emotive it is! She sounds incredible, I am sooo on board. I cannot wait for the live performances of this.

I’ve always loved her voice, I love how stripped back this is.

I don’t expect this to be a hit because of her being independent and due to the past single’s drama. I’m just happy to have a song I really enjoy, it’s all a fan can ask for. Chart success would only be a bonus.

I’m excited for the video tomorrow!
