From 1998, this was the only hit single for the Californian band who split up a year later. A remix with LMC and Rachel McFarlane returned the song to the top 40 in 2006.

10. Miley Cyrus - Midnight Sky 1402pts

With four of her previous singles stalling at number 11, this was just the sixth top 10 single for Miley Cyrus. It took ten weeks to climb from number 15 to number 5 and returned to its peak position twice more over the next six weeks.

9. David Gray - Babylon 1418pts

Writer - David Gray

Top scores - Bjork 50, Torple 48, JulianT 48

Low scores - xajnipi 3, seven. 3, deonate 4

Average score - 28.9

This was the breakthrough hit for David Gray who had been releasing music since 1992. It didn't chart when it first came out in 1999 but did much better the following year. It helped his 'White Ladder' album to become the fifth best selling album of the 2000s.

If I’m not mistaken this is what remains:

The Prodigy - Out Of Space

En Vogue - Don't Let Go (Love)

Daft Punk - Around The World

Moby - Porcelain

Snow Patrol - Run

Green Day – Boulevard Of Broken Dreams

Kelly Clarkson – Since U Been Gone

Pink - Who Knew

Nothing from my bottom 10 but only 1 from my top 10. Nothing I’d be really unhappy to see win though and glad that we’re getting a winner from the mid 00s or earlier again. I think The Prodigy would be a great winner actually, even though it’s not my highest scorer of those.

Ohhh too bad Babylon is gone

But kinda surprised a singer somgwriter song did so well on buzzjack

Glad it beat the overated songs by dua and miley

Thank God Babylon is out.

'Run' aside I'm happy with any of these winning :cheer:

'You Get What You Give' and 'Babylon' are both joyous singalongs!

Shocked that 'Midnight Sky' is as low as #10 though, was definitely expecting that near the top.

I'd be happy with any of the remaining ones winning but I hope it's either Green Day or En Vogue (not sure what Bre has against them but 'Don't Let Go (Love)' is a fantastic song).

'Midnight's Guy' remains by far and away the best thing Miley's ever done.

I think that's an excellent selection left. I'd honestly be OK with any of Kelly Clarkson, P!nk, Green Day, Moby, Daft Punk or The Prodigy winning it.

Since U Been Gone was rejected by Pink and Hilary Duff before being offered to Kelly Clarkson. It was her second top 10 hit and highest charting single up to that point.

Porcelain was the sixth single from Moby's 'Play' album with all of them reaching the top 40. It was used in the 2000 film 'The Beach' as well as several commercials. It's his only top 5 hit.

4 of my top 10 still in tact and my lowest ranked song that's left still got a respectable 34 points so can't complain with how it's turned out.
4 of my top 10 left too. Great to see Babylon and Porcelain making the overall top 10, not sure I'd have called that at the start, certainly in 2000 I wouldn't have predicted them to be so well remembered 23 years later!
'Since U Been Gone' and 'Porcelain' are both great but they were probably my least favourite of what was left so no complaints.
Ooh, one of my top 2 finally drops out. Think it's just Daft Punk, Green Day and Snow Patrol left from my top 10 now, but that's certainly not too bad a showing. Porcelain is one of the most beautifully composed dance tracks ever <3 I really like this whole top 10 bar En Vogue (which isn't bad but far, far too high in my view, I didn't even know it was that liked on here). Babylon is one of my favourite MOR tracks and Midnight Sky is a modern classic so I have no qualms with that being so high.
En Vogue (not sure what Bre has against them but 'Don't Let Go (Love)' is a fantastic song).

The first time I heard the song was Little Mix's cover on X Factor which I did think sounded like a good song... and then I heard the original and was quite shocked at how utterly boring and lifeless it is in comparison. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Quickly catching up again... if we were to have one of the very recent songs in the top 10 I'd have preferred it to be 'Levitating' than 'Midnight Sky' but although I do like both songs I'm glad neither of them have ended up quite at the very top. Kind of pleasantly surprised that Fleetwood Mac are as high as #12, great song but feels a little overshadowed by some of their bigger streaming staples. Also don't think I'd have called New Radicals being as high as #11!

'Babylon' and 'Porcelain' both making the top 10 is fantastic  I'm not personally a huge fan of 'Since U Been Gone' but I can definitely see why so many people are.

Both my +50 and my +1 are still in  (plus 2 more of my top 10, and the other 2 remaining songs were also in my top 15, so we have a great top 5 here if En Vogue are out next...) Overall had half of my own top 10 making the overall top 10, but also 2 of my bottom 5.

Out Of Space was the fourth single taken from The Prodigy's debut album, 'Experience', and the third to reach the top 5. It features samples from 'Chase The Devil' by Max Romeo and 'Critical Beatdown' by Ultramagnetic MCs.

<_< nevermind then. #6 is great for 'Out Of Space' though, would have expected that to be a little more divisive.

Taken from the soundtrack to the 1996 film 'Set It Off', this was the fourth and final top 10 single for En Vogue. Dawn Robinson, who sang the lead vocal on the song, left soon afterwards. Two of the original quartet are still part of the group.
