April 5, 20232 yr Author Did anyone bring up Amerie yet? Eve is another. Yes the very first artist mentioned in this thread! Eve is another good shout, I would have expected more hits from her at the time.
April 5, 20232 yr I know he had only a few hits to his name but I did wonder what happened to Daniel Merriweather as he had scored such a big last major hit in 'Red' in 2009 and then nothing happened after. There probably was a single release after that, that went nowhere. I can't remember exactly lol. Also Jamelia is a good shout. 'Beware Of The Dog' is one of her best songs if not even her best for me!
April 5, 20232 yr Oh yeah, Daniel Merriweather. His album was actually really quite successful, but he completely disappeared after that! I believe one of his songs was also the only time Adele has done a collaboration with anybody.
April 5, 20232 yr Ainslie Henderson off of Fame Academy. This one #5 hit and literally nothing else ever again, that one is a great mystery. HpynQtb5cNg
April 8, 20232 yr Not really 2000’s per se but more early 2010’s.(I did t know where else to mentioned them). Fun. Had two pretty big hits in 2012 with We Are You & Some Nights then nothing really of nite since apart from Nate Ruess appearing on P!nk’s Just Give Me A Reason in 2013.

I’d say Jack Antonoff’s work with Bleachers, Taylor Swift, The 1975, Lana Del Rey etc is what Fun’s legacy is perhaps best known for in recent years.
April 9, 20232 yr ^^ Bleachers also won BJSC in 2017 with 'Don't Take The Money' and Nate Reuss did feature on an Eminem song about 5 or 6 years ago as well.

April 9, 20232 yr That's right, Headlights from late 2013. I like that one. Oh gosh I didn't realise it was 2013 for some reason haha.
April 9, 20232 yr Author Some other names that went missing from the charts after the 2000’s; YUpbO-mpi74 k0ODOYNAuGM tolm-07if3c suPlYwJ3YvM KRFHiBW9RE8 Whatever happened to these guys?
April 9, 20232 yr Thanks to Radio 1's 00's all day on Easter thing I guess you could add Ja Rule to this as he hasn't had any hit in the UK since 2005..
April 9, 20232 yr KT Tunstall has continued releasing music regularly ever since. She was last top 40 in 2010 but has charted all her albums to 40. It’s just difficult to break through again when Spotify and Radio 1 aren’t interested.
April 9, 20232 yr Gabriella Cilmi had a huge debut single, decent follow up and debut album too. Then it all went belly up with the second album. I did notice she released a third album some time ago. She was a part of the post Amy Winehouse period in 2008 with Duffy and Adele. (I may be forgetting another).
April 10, 20232 yr I really liked Gabriella Cilmi but it was torture working in the Co-op for the Christmas season when their store radio played Warm This Winter every hour of every day - literally.
April 10, 20232 yr 'On A Misson' & 'Defender' I loved from her 2nd album. I suppose she wasn't meant to break through exactly as even 'Sweet About Me' took time to land an eventual top 10!

April 11, 20232 yr At least Gabriella has that random name check on Ed Sheeran's You Need Me, I Don't Need You, which he still sings at the end of most of his gigs. I guess it was during her 15 minutes of fame when he wrote it.

I guess it was during her 15 minutes of fame when he wrote it. Ah the joys of workplace music. I worked at McDonalds for a number of years when I was younger. They played Everytime by Britney Spears a fair bit, along with other hits from 2004-7. I liked Defender, was never keen on On A Mission. Haha I forgot about that line in the Ed song, I liked it at the time.
May 6, 20232 yr Shontelle is another one that came to mind after hearing her original version of 'Impossible' on the radio yesterday. She had a couple of hits and a Akon feature. I seem to recall 'Battle Cry' being a great song too but that flopped at 61 or something but nothing came of her again really.
