No complaints so far!

Also fun fact with 'Magnificent'. It was the band's first single to miss the top 40 since 'In God's Country' all the way back in 1987! No surprise considering this era really went off the mark but still an impressive run for them for over two decades up till that point.

'In God's Country' was an import single as well - their last regular release to miss the Top 40 was 'A Celebration' in 1982! Certainly the quality of the No Line On The Horizon era didn't do them any favours, but it was the collapse of the physical singles market around 2008 which made them a spent force in the singles chart, as it did for most alternative / rock acts.

10. Walk On

Highest Pointer/s : jimwatts (10)

Lowest Pointer/s : awardinary, JulianT (02)

Average Score : 6.33

'Walk On' was the 4th release from the bands 10th album All That You Can't Leave Behind. Reaching #5 in December 2001, it picked up a 10 from Jim whereas Wardy and Julian both gave it a lowly 2 points. I gave it 3 as well. A mix of high and low votes for it overall.

9th LMC vs U2 - Take Me To The Clouds Above

Highest Pointer/s : Tafty³³³, gooddelta (10)

Lowest Pointer/s : Jessie Where (02)

Average Score : 6.8

LMC decided to make use of a bit of 'With or Without You' which in itself is one of U2's signature classic hits. It topped the UK chart in Feb 2004. Receiving two set of 10 points and marginally good scores throughout.

I don’t know why this one was ever really credited to U2, I mean I know the sample is there but it’s quite a weak sample to be honest and I would have thought in this day and age that they wouldn’t have cared if their name was credited or not.

8th Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of

Highest Pointer/s : Yobnedor, chartjack2, Chapman (11)

Lowest Pointer/s : Jessie Where (0)

Average Score : 6.86

'Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of' was the follow up single to BD in 2000 and peaked at number 2. It managed to pick up 3 sets of 11's and a 0 as well to prop it to 8th place here.

7 City Of Blinding Lights

Highest Pointer/s : popchartfreak (10) and Torple, Roba (09)

Lowest Pointer/s : Yobnedor, chartjack2 (05)

Average Score 7.1

'City Of Blinding Lights' peaked at 2 in June 05. Clearly a single or two of theirs by passed me by when charting at the time but it is a fab track considering. It however doesn't make the top 5.

6 Electrical Storm

Highest Pointer/s : jimwatts (10) (tie break purposes.. JulianT (9.5)

Lowest Pointer/s : Tafty³³³ (03)

Average Score : 7.1 (tiebreaker winner because ES got 9.5 despite City.. getting two 9's. Both received one 10 each)

Two songs with the same average score which are broken up by one song getting another 9 or two over this one means 'Electrical Storm' comes 7th. I did notice that the version I had down on the Spotify playlist wasn't the William Orbit version originally but hey ho I'm sure you know it best from this anyway.

8th Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of

Highest Pointer/s : Yobnedor, chartjack2, Chapman (11)

Lowest Pointer/s : Jessie Where (0)

Average Score : 6.86

'Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of' was the follow up single to BD in 2000 and peaked at number 2. It managed to pick up 3 sets of 11's and a 0 as well to prop it to 8th place here.

Deserved better!

I need to replay all these, its not as if any of them (bar Beautiful Day) get a lot of radio plays these days, but I certainly rated them at the time for the most part... :)
These results are quite diverse, but that Top 5 seems solid. I would be happy with any of those winning but I am sure it will be Beautiful Day that gets the win!
Ah Stuck In a Moment really should have won this :( Karma for me trolling the female solo rate I guess…
So 'Electrical Storm' gets a 10 and a 9.5, but it gets beaten on a tiebreak by a song which gets a 10 and no 9.5 because it has more 9s :mathswoman: well anyway, it's done well to be the highest non-Top 3 hit here.
