Ed Sheeran is releasing his new album on 5/5.

We’ve already heard two singles from it. How many 'copies' do you think it will sell in its first week?

I went 31 - 45k.

I really do think this one will struggle.

For comparison, first week sales of '=':

94,527 physical sales, 19,294 downloads, 25,286 streaming

Considering that he can sell 24k cd singles (like he did with Eyes Open), 50k in sales alone is a no brainer.

Agreed, yes sales have collapsed even further be he’s still one of the big sellers.

I actually disagree

it's not hard to sell 99p Cd singles

how many vinyls did he sell from Equals on week 1? 11k, which is very very very little

that's the really measure of how well he sells physicals, not his CD singles

I can agree that it's far easier to sell a 99p CD single than a physical album just because of the price alone but not really sure why the 11k vinyls are the only notable number - he sold 83k other physical copies which is very good for anyone and I expect CDs will make up the bulk of Ed's sales once again.

I'm thinking 61-75k this time, strong sales but a downhill slide for Ed.

Not really I would say a vinyl.is more a big/super fan as they usually priced £30 plus whereas a cd retails around £10

You would definitely get more casuals buying a CD rather than a vinyl

I went with 46k - 60k but I could see 61k - 75k as well.
