In the end it turned out to be a very close call between Australian pop duo Savage Garden & Irish girl band B*Witched but it is the former who are eliminated. Hayes & Jones made their chart debut the year prior with I Want You which just missed the top 10 but there was no danger in that happening with this single. It debuted at #4 in early 1998 and enjoyed a lengthy top 10 run. The band continued a successful stint which stretched into an second album however they broke up in 2001 to allow Hayes to pursue a solo career.

I’m actually going for Cher now! I’d prefer It’s Like That over C’est La Vie in the final though so maybe should have gone tactical.

The B*Witched track is the worst of all ten in this survivor so hopefully it is gonna be gone now.
