The Dave/Central Cee collab is out tomorrow.

Olivia's is at least a lead single from a new album rather than just a soundtrack single so I think it's a slightly more reasonable prediction (it's probably safe to assume it'll be getting instant heavy playlist support etc.) but yeah, not exactly a guarantee. One might have thought Billie Eilish was in the position to have a pretty easy shot at #1 with 'my future' under similar circumstances for example (granted Billie's debut wasn't quite as all-dominant as Olivia's) and we saw what happened with that, because the song didn't sound like it was trying to be a hit.

 

The Dave/Central Cee song I think will probably go to #1 on Spotify on its first day on hype alone but no guarantee of it having any longevity.

 

On the flip side, her soundtrack single "No Time To Die" ended up going to #1. :lol:

 

I think Olivia is in a much better position than Dua with her upcoming lead single. Especially with the songs from Sour still being streamed so strongly (it's less than 400 million streams until it reaches 10 billion on spotify alone! I think Ed's divide is the only album to do more on spotify with almost 13 billion?).

but like I said, probably not going to happen as we’re supposedly getting a Dave x Central Cee collab soon (and even if not something else will come along)

Central Cee turns 25 on Sunday and Dave turns 25 on Monday (same day as me)

I'm not irate about it or belittling anyone lol people are free to speculate as much as they like, I'm just saying I don't think you can make an educated prediction (or, as was the case here, proclaim Olivia's single "an easy #1") until you hear the song or at least know something about it.

But we're talking about the biggest stars of the world

it's like Taylor with Anti-Hero, nobody needed to hear it to predict it was gonna be massive

same with Adele-Easy on Me

and Olivia is maybe not in the same category of Adele/Taylor/Harry but almost there

 

I think it's good to speculate and discuss, that's what forums are for

rather that than people complaining and moaning 24/7 about everything
