In the Itunes top 10 it's only Kylie and Miley which is 99p, everything else is 59p

Looking back at Say Something: it was midweek #52 on Monday 27th July 2020 with 3,218 sales. 1,746 of those sales were the previous day's sales, so its Sunday midweek total was only 1,472.

 

It was worked out at the time that around 1,600 to 1,700 download sales would have been achieved on Thursday 23rd July 2020 (its release date).

 

It ended up charting at #82 on Friday 31st July 2020 with 6,091 sales (+2,873 increase from its Monday midweek). If we add the theoretical "1,700 wasted downloads" to take it to ~7,800, it would have made the Top 60 (likely #59) instead of #82. Which granted isn't the most major of increases, but still.

 

 

I'm guessing that for Padam Padam to be #21 on Sunday it might have sold around 3.5k? And if it was to add another 2k today, then there's potential for it to hold onto the Top 30 in Monday's midweeks. I'm just guessing, but I reckon that Padam Padam's "wasted downloads" from Thursday (we think it was approaching 1,000?), if they'd been achieved in this chart week instead, then it would have put the song at around #13/#14 in the Sunday midweeks instead of #21. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but a mention of the song being in the First Look chart and possibly even playing it would have been a positive outcome, that they robbed themselves of... because supposedly Thursday releases are a good tactic. I wish I could see any evidence that supports that - from where I'm standing, it's self-sabotage! :P

 

Anyway, so far so good, with all signs pointing to Padam Padam having a stronger opening week than Say Something. Not to jinx it, but I think it will do more than enough to stay Top 75 by Friday. I'll even be optimistic and predict that it'll be no lower than the 50s area of the chart. It still being #1 on iTunes on Monday is also great in comparison to Say Something which had fallen to #13 by Monday lunch time.

Top 30 today would be great, thanks for posting say something comparisons, them 1k or so sales from last week could have a difference for today's midweek but I guess we can do nothing about that now.

I expect Kylie fans to grab other downloads somewhere if they see her top 40 today and so a bit more streaming.

Actually too-40 might be doable if BMG AND the UK fanbase bother with it.

Number 26 in todays mids.

They need to send out the Spotify and Apple Music streaming links again and push for this

It will be interesting to see will do they anything to push it now that its had a top 30 in 2 chart updates.

Thing is I understand they will want some longevity here with this song to release all remixes, physicals in first week won't happen. But

 

Try build the streaming.

 

That said, I Want it to be a top 40 for Kylie so we need BMG to be reactive

This is probably its best chance at top 40 so I do wish they’d just throw the iamspamspamamisink at it lol

Almost 5k is great for Kylie at this stage,all is looking good for Top 75 this week, i wonder if her sales from Thursday were in this weeks count would it be top 20 today.

She’d only need to add another 2k to stay top 75 so I think that’ll be easy, I’d predict it to debut in the 50s but I might be being optimistic!
