I'm kind of expecting it'll only last for just this one single, which is why I'm savouring every moment of it!

Yup. This feels more like a one-off rather than something that'll translate to single #2. Still, it'll probably help her overall streaming presence in the long run which is a good thing.

Amazing rise in the three key markets. Would love to see the WW figures.

I’m also low-key monitoring Brazil’s top-200, since she’s top-20 there on Apple Music, but it’s nowhere to be seen. But Brazil’s Spotify is huge — their number 200 is being streamed 160k times daily.

Well the 2nd single will have the benefit still of fans being able to download the song from both standard and deluxe iTunes albums and they know they lost sales from a Thursday release... plus they saw the 59p trick work and also the video release straight away .... so it could still be a top 75 hit I think and I don't even know what it will be haha.

I suppose lightning is unlikely to strike twice, but I hope that the performance of Padam Padam will make the streaming services more open minded about supporting her future singles, even if they don't capture the zeitgeist in the way that Padam Padam has with the memes.

I guess we shouldn't worry about that for now and just savour and celebrate how she's doing right now!

Wowww at #16 on Apple Music. I keep feeling like it's got to stall but then it goes higher!

I think if they play their cards right, they could make another top-40 from the album, even if it doesn’t take off later:

Streaming will increase regardless;

Put the single as song 2 behind Padam in the Padam single package;

Prepare something extra to release through the website;

Physical release, even if it is again dead expensive.

And that should be enough to clear 10-11K!

Meanwhile I keep seeing the messages of people exploring Kylie after Padam. It is really doing wonders for the whole catalogue.

My friends son who is 13 was here in the house today and mentioned padam padam saying its great I said who sings it so I can look it up and he said "some new singer called kylie something"

^^ Some new singer :lol:

Love that decades into her career she is still reaching new people and audiences with her music.

I gave a kylie history lesson but he didn't connect it was the singer behind can't get you out if my head as he knew that song.

She might make it big one day!

"some new singer called kylie something"

Me in 2000 after hearing Spinning Around :coffee:

Knowing kylie growing up even in 2000 I was like how come so many don't know kylie and 23 years on again and I still think the same. Just shows there is always work to be done to have your name out there.

I was vaguely aware of who she was before 'Spinning Around' and was sort of familiar with a small handful of songs, but I was 12 at the time and had only started following the charts about 3 months previously.

I saw she was at number one before I'd heard the song, I have to admit my first thought was "that soapstar from the 80s has made a random comeback" :lol:

(Little did I know what significance she'd go on to have in my life...)

I was born in 2000 and I can never remember not knowing Kylie lol, I even remember the Light Years/Fever era videos on music channels all the time

I think it shows how notoriously difficult it is to become an established artist now - for example my nieces loved Meghan Trainor’s ‘Made You Look’, Raye’s ‘Escapism’ and Becky Hill’s ‘Remember’ to the point where they were on loop but they would have no idea who any of them actually were as the songs just crossed over to their worlds via TikTok etc., and they certainly are not on the lookout for new songs by any of the above or listening to their back catalogs.

Quite a lot of coverage of Kylie in Brazil.

I mean... that's Brazil for you. There's a reason why "come to Brazil" is a meme in itself.
