I genuinely wonder if part laziness - of course you can argue that it's sometimes an stylistic choice to go along with the track, but the entirety of her last few albums have felt heavily autotuned (Madam X being the worst offender). Doing it without autotune/vocoder means spending more time in front of the mic to get everything right while putting a lot of effects on it means she can just sing it and then let the post-production do its magic.

To be fair, it's a fairly small bit of the song and we don't know how many re-takes she had to do to sound like that. Voices age and Madonna has never taken great care of hers post-Evita (which is bizarre considering what a health freak she is in general).

I can see it getting major playlist support thanks to Sam. It's written by the same team that wrote Unholy.

Madonna’s vocals on this are giving me Madonna on the Nekci Menij Show vibes, to the point I’m low-key stanning

I’ve somehow refrained from hearing any leaks of this until hearing this full listen.

 

This kinda goes off production wise but lyrically it’s a bit terrible. It would definitely go off in a club though!
