Posted May 26, 20232 yr Should they strike while Padam Padam is still hot and push forward the release date of Tension?
May 26, 20232 yr Absolutely NOT. We see albums go in high and straight out recently. BMG are building up streaming of probably 3-4 songs before album release to give it some streaming longevity after release. She is selling the physicals in September when another single or two will have been released and more promo is probably all booked into TB shows and also probably a Tour for 2024 announcement. It will all be timed for her to be in UK Aug/Sept and then Australia again for their summer and their promo. Why the need to bring forward an album? Enjoy the single chart success and what it can do for the album when they start the album promo a little later.
May 26, 20232 yr No - even if PP really takes off more than it has they should use that as an opportunity to build album pre-orders and demand, it also gives them a chance to really think about the follow up and really showcase the new music.
May 26, 20232 yr If padam padam can really take off over the next few weeks it gives them enough time to get the 2nd single out which in an ideal world will at least do something and at minimum go top 75 and the third single out maybe around album release, all of which which help the streaming of the album and completely maximize pre orders of the various formats which should result in a number 1 album with respectable sales. I would be happy to see Tension opening on the same lines or close to Disco.
May 27, 20232 yr They have no reason to, 'Padam Padam' is doing the business and is gonna be everywhere all summer. Let that do its job, then unleash the second single in the autumn ready for the album.
May 27, 20232 yr Yeah I don't think they need to - just build up the pre-orders over time while this song is a hit, and have time to build up the presence of a couple more tracks in the run up to the album release.
