Steps certainly suffered with the ED release, any other week they would have probably gone top 30.

Although I'm not expecting lightning to strike twice, I'm interested to see how certain artists/labels study the template of what made 'Padam Padam' work and how they try and replicate this success.

I'm also interested to see how they with the 2nd single abdcsee can any of the padam padam success carry over. If they can 2 in row maybe then they can apply it to the next steps single.

Scared of the Dark might have just about gone Top 20 if the 3 track rule and ACR had been in place at the time. Sigh!

Even though this is a potential ‘blip’ for Kylie and BMG I’m interested too to see if they change their singles strategy - such as dropping Thursday releases etc.,

 

The artists they work with their aim and focus will always be the album release but this might make them realize they can achieve hits with ‘legacy/fanbase driven’ artists that don’t instantly get streaming support.

That's what I would hope, def drop the Thursday releases. Padam padam has proved that even though its very hard, legacy acts can still have hits.
