I didnt realise it was self funded, hopefully she can at least get the money back she invested, her touring might help her out. Ya its surprising she isnt signed to bmg like Steps are, maybe they didnt want one artist on the books twice.

Not a terrible video considering she doesn’t have the backing of Sony for this album like she did with the first.

Seems like it’s a very much self funded operation in collaboration with Demon Music, the budget appears to have been poured into multi formatting, I thought Steps label BMG may have been interested in working with Claire as a solo artist after the success the band has had with them.

Interesting that Demon Music is involved with this considering they released the Appleton re-issue! I guess they've seen a profitable market with physical releases for artists with fanbases; I'm guessing they're looking to establish themselves as a competitor to BMG, which is nice to see.

Been honest I had never really heard of demon music or if I did the name didn't stay in my head. It's nice to see the physical format still plays its own important role, physicals for me give albums an identity.
I've never heard of them either, but if they can produce the multiple copies then it's decent enough. Claire obviously is going to sell in week one and then drop like a stone so here's hoping for a top 10!

They've mostly dealt with catalog releases so far from what I can tell, so Claire is seemingly among their first "current" artists/releases they're handling. I don't doubt that they've seen the success BMG has had with handling legacy acts and saw a gap in the market - I think this is good news overall for all of those older artists that aren't doing well on streaming that more labels are noticing that there's money to be made from physical releases.

Hopefully encourages a lot more of those older acts to have opportunities to release more.

It would be great if it happens as we know there is a gap in the market, the album market has changed drastically but the increase in demand for vinyl and special additions is huge. Claire is a one week wonder type album so tgey may aswell chase the highest chart position they can.

Demon/Crimson Music has some great success with their ‘Gold’ album releases on CD and vinyl for physical buying fanbases so this seems an extension of that project along with the success they’ve seen from BMG.

Some of their ‘Gold’ releases has some decent chart success -

S Club 7 was UMC/Spectrum, not Demon!

Demon is owned by BBC Studios:

We are a catalogue marketing company owned by BBC Studios, specialising in the exploitation of audio rights across physical and digital. We work directly with artists, striving to exceed fan expectations across our packages and we create physical CDs to cater for all tastes. We make vinyl… a lot of vinyl. We have been participating in record store day for over 10 years! We license music from all of the major record companies and we work with all the key physical partners, from the supermarkets to online and specialist accounts. We also work with all digital partners and our music can be heard across all platforms worldwide. We release a number of specialist BBC titles focusing upon niche and cult brands and have a number of catalogues we control and exploit. And we’ve been doing it for over 40 years!

The aforementioned Appleton release is Fascination/Demon, and Claire’s will be too, so it seems Fascination has struck up a business relationship with Demon.

More specifically, Claire’s release is marketed by Edsel Records, a division of Demon Music Group.

Daniel O'Donnell is probably the most successful artist on their roster. He has been with them for twenty years.

The production on this is flat as a pancake. Claire is belting the chorus to this meek background beat.

It makes it all just feel very nothingy.

Agreed, it's so lifeless production-wise. Really needs amping up a LOT.

Nothing would have topped Celine’s version.

Claire’s voice is good, but nowhere near Celine in her prime!

Celine's vocal is on a different level. With her name mentioned I wish her well as she is going through such a difficult time in her life.

It is great that Claire has selected a Celine Dion track to cover.
