LOL

any chance the sales can count without being shipped?

Nope - the item has to be physically shipped to count.

The fact it’s being playlisted now makes it even more of a mess that physicals are being held back until the 10th :drama:

Does this mean they are holding off and all 3 physical formats will be out together?

Only for those who ordered the CD & Cassette in the same order as the vinyl singles, without specifying to separate the shipping.

I did two separate orders, one for CD & Cassette and one for the 7” bundle. Doing that cost exactly the same in postage as combining them. My CD & Cassette has dispatched, here tomorrow because it’s 48 Hour shipping.

A mess!!!

I just don;t understand the 10th November date at all? I understand everything pre-order for 8th December but the CD/Cassette released on 10th Nov but only if she ship seperately is a little bonkers

Hy my huns

Yeah very strange they are not shipping them all together on the 10th...

Also, very strange no video... I hope it isnt just the lyric video...

Unless they are actually aiming for the december date as the impact date and we will get a video then? But then if that is the case, why release physicals now...

All does not add up, especially with the extended mix dropping last week as well...

Lets see what the next couple of days bring I guess?

The HOTN extended mix is incredible huns

Just Carol Honey ❤️

I suppose they know how many cds/cassettes will be shipped this weekend and how many on the 8th Dec. Maybe they hold everything for 10th if that's what looks like the best impact week, yet those Xmas songs will everywhere by then

Let's see how many physicals turn up on Mondays mid weeks.....

If on 8th Dec shw has 3000 vinyl, 2000 cd and 1000 cassette to start then that will look good

If it's 2000 vinyl, 200 cds and 150 cassettes then that's a waste lol

Well I guess it is what it is - they had a real chance of a Top 40 and they’ve totally missed the opportunity, the fact that a large amount of CDs and cassettes will ship with the vinyl on December 10th will mean it gets lost in the Christmas chart mayhem.

Pleased we have the song and physicals just disappointed that we seem to have reverted the old BMG singles campaigns.

Ya it will get totally lost in the Christmas mayhem which is why everything should be out and shipped this week.

My CD & Cassette came today. I love the artwork, looks great in physical form too.

Just like the Tension singles, there are no credits for songwriters/production etc, which seems strange to me.

Sorry to complain when I’ve got them while others are waiting, but I wish Townsend would consider it worthwhile to arrange superior protective packaging, instead of a Jiffy Bag. A corner of my cassette was dented. I tried to make it look a bit better but there’s no way it can ever be pristine. It’s just annoying that BMG make these brand new items and then Townsend dispatch them in a way which makes it touch and go for them to remain looking perfect. Considering the postage charges are immense it just feels like they don’t care.

In fairness, achieving another T40 hit post album was always going to be a big ask. However, the release strategy certainly hasn’t helped. I think whatever is released next is unlikely to do much without any significant promotion or proper release strategy. It’s a shame because HOTN is the best song so far from the album and likely to be overlooked.

Absolutely - I never expected a 2nd Top 40 let alone a 3rd.

It’s just frustrating that if the CD and Cassette had shipped to everyone this week and the extended version was released this week rather than last then she may have been in with a chance, certainly it would have got a much higher peak than #81.

She still has a chance week of 8th Dec of a top 40.

Let's see how many got their cds and cassettes in tomorrow's update. If it's only a handful then 8th Dec can grab a top 40 spot, despite the Xmas songs.

I just don't get the 10th November release of some physicals, it seems like it's actually an error / overlook on the part of BMG, I just can't see a reason for it at all!?!?!

^^ BMG are probably expecting all the CDs and Cassettes to be shipped this week and not realise a potential sizeable amount is being held back?

I think the 10th will be a challenge with Christmas songs - even with the vinyl sales hopefully being really strong seeing as how much noise the fanbase made about wanting them.

Not sure if it can be posted yet but the position has been announced in SH
BMG really let themselves down sometimes.

After such an epic start with PP and Tension they have got it so wrong with HOTN!

Frustrating as todays midweek shows had they done it properly it could have been a hit.

41 in Mids is ok, That means lots of cassettes and cds still to be sent out on 8th Dec. That is now our target week for a top 40 everyone. Save your downloads etc until then

very strange strategy though

I would probably let go of the idea of Top 40 being achieveable in the 15th December chart. I know you want to be positive about it, but in the equivalent week in 2022, a Top 40 position required over 16,000 sales (#41 sold 16,380). 8,376 was needed for #75. Sales might be a bit down on that this year, but really, how do we see Hold on to Now selling that much in December when it's already "lost" some physical sales to this week?

Regarding #41 in Sunday's midweeks... that's potentially around 2,300 sales, but I'm basing this on old info I have for Sunday midweeks from 11th June 2023, it could be less than that now.

Hold on to Now sold 5,485 to be #81 in September. However last week's #75 sold 4,961.

I don't know how many sales #100 requires lately. It's certainly down on last year; the #100 on 11th Nov 2022 sold 4,903 and the #75 was 5,827. Comparing the #75 sales from 11th Nov 2022 and 10th Nov 2023, they're down -14.86%. So applying that decrease to the #100 would result in 4,174 sales for the most recent chart.

So maybe HOTN needs to sell 4,200 to re-enter the Top 100, and needs approaching 5,000 to outdo its current peak. I'm not feeling confident about either outcome if I'm honest.
