8 weeks on and Kylie is still doing really well with Padam Padam, how do you think things will go this week?

So difficult to tell at this point without knowing what sort of impact Taylor Swift and D-Block Europe will have - but I would like to think that Padam Padam will climb. #8 will remain its peak. No climb in Australia and honestly not sure about Ireland but I'll predict it'll fall.

With a few songs going on ACR i think Padam padam should get back into the UK top 10 again this week and maybe match its peak. I do think its probably done in Australia, a pitty they didnt embrace it more but its still great it went top 20 there, with Ireland its always hard to call as we get no sales information ever so there is no guide, i think she will get a third week top 10 here but at what position i have no clue.

I was looking at Padam Padam's sales over the weeks. This post is totally a "benefit of hindsight" thing! Not intending to annoy anybody, this is just for fun. Obviously BMG don't have a crystal ball. It's just these scenarios could potentially have happened:

I still think that BMG were too overeager to release the CD in the third week (which resulted in a climb to #12) and then the Cassette in week 4 (climbed to #9). It meant that by week 5 her physical sales had pretty much dried up, in what became her peak week at #8.

If they had timed both the CD and Cassette for week 4, then Padam Padam's chart run could have been this: 26-23-16-7-8-10-12... (so #16 in week 3 instead of #12... but #7 in week 4 instead of #9).

Alternatively, if they had been extra patient and unleashed both the CD and Cassette in week 5, then this could have happened: 26-23-16-14-4-10-12... (#16 in week 3 instead of #12 & #14 in week 4 instead of #9... but #4 in week 5 instead of #8!). I know those first 4 weeks might have been a little unbearable, but biding their time could have turned Padam Padam into a Top 5 hit.

What's done is done, and the chart run it actually has is still fantastic (and something we would have only dreamt about 2 months ago). It's just that alternative strategies could have resulted in higher peaks.

That's before mentioning the 7" vinyl shaped hole in this campaign, but meh :kink:

Still think it will go back top 10, not sure how but it can.

What if Spotify did put it on Todays Top Hits etc.

What it needs is a coordinated campaign. BMG should be pushing streaming media posts today not later in the week.

We are now 10/11 weeks to album launch, things will pick up in the UK too, though I am guessing she is probably filming videos etc at the moment and building promo up.

Has anyone heard Padam in the Ibiza clubs etc?

I just feel something else will happen somewhere, just a hunch.

Download sales should be good this week again.

Can they release everything to Itunes at 59p, like a dub mix, vocal mix, sped up mix, instrumental etc, plus the extended Jax Jones mix etc. Fans would lap them up.

A TV appearance in UK would really boost it but doesn't look like until nearer the autumn.

I think the download sales are so impressive for padam padam, over 2000 again this week, thats really good for a song thats out almsot 2 months.

Really not sure this week - I feel like it could climb into the Top 10 again or be a non-mover, either way I think it will be a stable week before it starts it’s descent

I’m going to predict a return to the T10 at #10 too, assuming two Taylor album tracks debut higher. T10 might look like something like. It could re-peak if Taylor tracks end up charting outside of the T10 in the end.

2. Olivia Rodrigo

4. Taylor

6. Taylor

7. Peggy Gou

9. D-Block Europe

10. Kylie

Everyday there is another US State/City with a media article on Song Of The Summer contenders and Padam Padam always feartured (Detroit today). There must be something big about to happen Stateside to push this. BMG and Kylie obviously putting the work in and have some backers......... Are there any music award ceremonies coming up or any more big events where she could be present?

I wonder if it can begin to increase its streaming, even just a little bit... because it's going to start needing to, if we don't want Padam Padam going to ACR at the earliest opportunity!

Well BMG have released a new remix and tied it in to a 4 song list on Spotify with original at top hoping to get listeners to listen to original first then the remixes. The absolute remix hasnt reached any playlists yet, hopefully it can grab a few

She has gone pretty quiet now so she must be busy behind the scenes.

I guess if they put another track out then Padam Padam will always get mentioned etc.

Did it drop total streams this week? If it doesn't increase this week does that mean ACR from next week?

i mean according to the insider they will not try anything with PP....

I can’t see it dropping much and will probably stay in similar position or climb slightly next week.

Taylor and DBE will have a huge first day (maybe pushing Kylie out of the Spotify top-50), but they should fall quite quickly.

I’d say ‘Pakistan’ will stay in front and maybe one re-released Taylor track too. That will make number 9 for Kylie. A bit by default, but Kylie had some very tough week before.

Padam padam has been slightly unlucky as it hasnt got any easy weeks as such, its always fighting hard for its position in the Top 10 but the main is it got there and is doing very well overall.

24 hours in I’m going for 8

1 Dave/CC

2 Olivia

3 J Hus

4 Cruel Summer

5 Peggy

6 Hannah

7 D Block

8 Kylie

9 Jorja

10 0800

D Block songs are having little impact on Amazon OR crucially Apple - but the album release will keep Pakistan above PP.

Taylor has only had one ‘Taylor’s Version’ make the top 10 before, and that was from ‘Red’ which was one of her biggest albums. They will have a big first day on Spotify, but I doubt it will be big enough.

Hard to call where padam padam will be in todays first look, while im fairly confident top 10 im not sure but thinik it will be either 7,8 or 9 today.
