Posted June 13, 20232 yr Troye teased his upcoming 3rd album on Instagram a few days ago: https://www.instagram.com/p/CtSFcCjrpWx/ Troye's caption on the Instagram post: It’s not lost on me that some of you guys have been following along since i was the kid w the stye in my eye in that first video 🥲 Btw —- I didn’t mean to take 5 years to make this album - Bloom tour happened (lmk if you came! 🩵), then i started working on it, then cockbig19, then The Idol, always working on the album in all the moments between..and now here we are. 10 years since i signed my record deal, 5 years since bloom. Enough excuses now. Enough saying ‘soon’ 🙃 this is for YOU and it starts NOWWWW I love you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you 🩵 LFG 🫂🫂🫂 Can't wait! :cheeseblock: His 'In a Dream' EP era felt like an album era to me anyway, but it's pretty crazy that it's 5 years since Bloom.
June 13, 20232 yr Really enjoyed his 'IN A DREAM' EP. I particularly love the title track which has secured it's self as one of my absolute essential Troye songs. Excited to hear what direction he goes with this next album. Although they don't sound the same, you can tell they're Troye records. I hope he can keep that up!
June 16, 20232 yr I need this like yesterday! His two full length albums have been sublime and still on heavy rotation for me, while his EPs are doing the same. In A Dream deserved to be a full era, and I sort of see it as one. He could've added one or two more tracks and made it so, but regardless, I'm glad we got the vinyl etc for it. Bring on another full length project though *.*
July 13, 20231 yr Something To Give Each Other is the title of Troye Sivan's upcoming third album due out October 13. The lead single "Rush" is going to be released on July 13. Exclusive Deluxe Gatefold LP. Standard Modest LP.
July 13, 20231 yr The standard cover is fabulous *.* the deluxe is great too but also he's giving me Theresa May
July 17, 20231 yr Author Extracts from Vogue interview During our conversation, Sivan invokes Janet Jackson as a key inspiration (taste!), and names Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears as other formative influences. In the past you’ve written a lot about love and relationships, but this is a different take on that—you’re talking about friendship, and the joy that it brings you. The album is titled Something to Give to Each Other. Where does that come from? It’s exactly what you just said. It’s about community, and about community built off a common experience of dance music, partying, fashion, humor, and all of these things that I love so much about my life and about my friends. I came from this really serious, long, beautiful queer relationship, and I think that’s what I knew as intimacy and connection. It really rocked my world to come out on the other side of that—I’ve never been more single my whole life—and find this deep feeling of connection and intimacy with people, with a lot of people sometimes. That was so exciting, and it filled me with so much hope and totally surprised me. I was ready to make this depressing breakup album, and here I was having the time of my life feeling just grateful for the people around me. What can we expect musically from the album? I was listening to a lot of Janet Jackson from the early 2000s. I wanted to make this kind of sweet, nostalgic pop, but was also super inspired by the idea of global pop. I toured so much for Bloom, and then got back and was locked down in Australia. This album is really about the idea of pop music being able to bring people together. Of course it’s my experience, so it’s a queer experience, but it’s for everyone. It’s so cool to me, and nostalgic, to reminisce on pop stars of the past. Seeing a video of Janet playing to hundreds of thousands of people, with choreo and everything, is such a sweet part of my pop culture experience. It’s also an honest album, so there’s some low moments—only two, really—that are ballads about loneliness or reminiscing on the past. It’s a collection of all the experiences of the last two and a half to three years. I feel really lucky to say this, but I’m in a really good place, so the album feels like that. It’s been about five years since you released an album. What about right now felt like the time to get back into it? I’ve wanted to release an album, but a bunch of things happened. I toured for a year and a half, which took me to late 2019. Then COVID hit, and then I filmed The Idol for just under a year. It took a long time to make it, but I’m ready. I was working on the album during The Idol and during COVID; it was just at a much slower pace than if I had just been in the studio every day. But it spans quite a large portion of time in my life. The ballads explore feelings that were much stronger a couple of years ago than they are now, but it’s sweet to me to feel like they actually contributed to the depth and range of experiences that are explored on the album. Do you think you’ll tour for this album? For sure. I just don’t know when. Probably next year. We’ll see! Full interview here: https://www.vogue.com/article/troye-sivan-r...album-interview
October 3, 20231 yr Author I wonder how 'Something to Give Each Other' will do in the UK album chart? Disregarding 'i'm so tired...' and '1999' (collaboration singles from Lauv & Charli XCX albums respectively), 'Rush' has become Troye's biggest solo hit in the UK. It peaked at #21 and has spent 11 weeks and counting in the UK Top 40. That makes it far more successful than his previous biggest solo hit, the #38 peaking 'My My My!' which spent 1 week in the Top 40. What's more, Troye's latest single 'Got Me Started' is midweek #34! Two Top 40 hits (potentially) is a great way to set up his album, but will it translate into making it his highest peaking / biggest first week sales? His previous peaks and first week sales: 11/09/15 - #5 - 9,992 sales - Wild (EP) 11/12/15 - #43 - 7,596 sales - Blue Neighbourhood [Approximately 4.2k Downloads / 2.1k Physicals / 1.3k Streaming] 07/09/18 - #10 - 6,081 sales - Bloom [2,659 Streaming / 2,131 Physicals / 1,291 Downloads] 28/08/20 - #34 - 1,937 sales - In a Dream (EP) [1,147 CDs / 578 Streaming / 212 Downloads]
October 5, 20231 yr Surely it’ll go Top 10? He’s done Banquet signed and had a London signing yesterday and is pre-recording UK promo atm.

October 8, 20231 yr Can't remember when I was this excited for an album before! Maybe since Chromatica :drama: hope it delivers!
October 9, 20231 yr Taylor's "ERAs Tour" concert film is released to cinemas this coming weekend. Her albums are already dominating the charts every week, so with this push I think she's going to get a few of her albums back in the top 10. I do hope Troye can somehow manage a top 10 though! GAHHHH!
October 13, 20231 yr I am so so so happy that they're seemingly pushing 'One Of Your Girls' as the focus track. SOOOO good! Such a unique sounding song to me on the whole. It gives me 'Nightcall' by Kavinsky a little bit in the chorus (probably down to the vocal effect more than anything) 09.0 Rush 08.5 What's The Time Where You Are? > Very catchy! The hook is stuck in my head. < 10.0 One Of Your Girls 07.0 In My Room > Could be a grower. We'll see. < 08.0 Still Got It > This is the closest he's been to 'Blue Neighbourhood' with his sound in a while (Maybe if 'Talk Me Down was made for 'Bloom'... that kinda vibe - sonically) It'd be bottom 5 on that album, but it's still a really nice song! < 08.0 Can't Go Back, Baby > This is nice! Really smooth and it works. < 10.0 Got Me Started > I prefer this quite a bit more than 'Rush'! I think the sample oddly works extremely well with it! < 08.5 Silly > I was nervous about this one because I heard a random clip of it on Twitter and I really wasn't feeling it... but hearing the full thing, I really like it! < 10.0 Honey > Oooooh! This is a BOPPPPP! The chorus is pop heaven! < 07.0 How To Stay With You > This was OK and I liked it, but I don't think it's a highlight (or anywhere close) to being one. Who knows how I'll feel in a few more listens though lol < On the whole, it's his weakest album on first impressions... however, I still think it is a very good album that will only grow on me with more listens! 'One Of Your Girls' and 'Honey' are both SO good though.
October 13, 20231 yr 'One Of Your Girls' has a video: ZhGl8McrOHo He looks absolutely INCREDIBLE in drag... omg! Love the video and the homage to pop icons (surely?? I spotted a bit of Britney, Beyoncé, Kylie, Madonna & a little bit of Janet in there too (who he shouts out in his thank yous for this album!)) a great video!
