Last week's results:

Burial narrowly pulled off a 4-3 win over Doss with the almost 10-minute long 'Unknown Summer'. It's the first we've heard from Burial since last October's Streetlands EP and the first Burial track with an actual beat in a wee while after his recent forays into formless ambient. The song features on a split release with Kode 9 that scored a 6.9 from Pitchfork. In their review of the single, Resident Advisor writes, "Even all these years later, Burial still has the power to stop you in your tracks."

Listened to them all and I've still voted for the one I mentioned in Kath's personal chart, David Jackson - Thrust!!

This week's oberservations... wondering which of these will make an appearance in the next BJSC...

1. Gilligan Moss – Turn Back Time [You know where you stand with Gilligan Moss, always something quite beautifully produced for a sunny day]

2. Romy – The Sea [As I said in the other poll, the music from Romy in 2023 has been spot on, I haven't found a song I did not like yet]

3. David Jackson – Thrust!! [I heard this one on Friday, quite a throwback sound, I can't work out if it is a sample or just a very familiar hook]

4. Cameo Blush – Verbatim [This sounds decent on first impression, quite a few different elements on display here]

5. Sofia Kourtesis – Si Te Portas Bonito [Nice vibes this one, I can see myself playing it again in the future]

6. Aphex Twin – in a room7 F760 [I don't know much music from Aphex Twin, other than Windowlicker, so it is hard to compare, but it seems to be getting a great reaction by appearing inside the UK First Look Top 20 so that has certainly got me sitting up and paying attention]

7. niina – gimme gimme [So so, I could come to enjoy this more after a few more listens I imagine]

8. Orbital feat. Dina Ipavic – The Crane [I didn't enjoy the vocal on this one, not something I could get into]

Romyromyromy

Orbital gets my vote this week x

That David Jackson track is really clicking with me. If I had more than one vote that would've also been chosen

Voted for Romy, this might just be my favourite song from this project thus far  strong week though!
