Zane has said he didn’t actually say that.

I am kind of here for new Drake as when he’s good he is really good. But I do feel either way we’re going to get a new Spotify #1 come Friday with one of the new releases and the top end of the singles could see a shake up. I can see both Miley and Selena having strong debuts too.

It feels pretty typical that after weeks of waiting for something to come along we’re getting everything at once but I swear this always happens

Doja will likely get a big hit from this but I don’t quite see it going all the way to #1 more like a long running top 5 smash which is still good going considering she’s p*ssed off a lot of her fans.

Not someone just making up a nonexistent interview and sending the Internet wild for 12 hours *_* (I believed it too so I can't claim to be above the fake news oop)

I don't really see an Ed/Drake collab ever happening tbh, unless maybe we eventually get a No.7 Collaborations Project with a song featuring Drake alongside Central Cee or something lol. They just feel like they live in completely separate universes to me.

The biggest song off 'Her Loss' did 44k first week, if this new Drake album matches or outdoes that it should have a decent chance of getting the #1 next week I guess. But still wouldn't hold my breath.

on top of my head, without looking it up, I remember Dionne Warwick, think it's the original of Walk on By

I remember Gabrielle, Sybil, Gloria Gaynor, Isaac Hayes, Seal, The Stranglers, Beyonce did sample it on the Inches song

and that's without looking it up

I cannot think of any other song that I know so many versions

Thanks for actually giving an example, I didn't know about Beyoncé sampling it (I guess it didn't come up on my search because she sampled the Isaac Hayes version rather than Dionne Warwick). It's still not really a song I'd consider egregiously oversampled though (see 'Show Me Love', 'Blue (Da Ba Dee)', 'Push The Feeling On' and indeed 'Children' more recently). For sure it's been covered a lot yes although nearly all the relevant ones are from the last century.

Omg the Dylan & bastille track on apple 😍😍😍 I can’t believe it charted at all so that’s so amazing! Now if only it could become a actual hit

Also interesting to see drakes album with an actual release date as it’s been meant to release (supposedly) several times this month lol. Intriguing to see how big it can go, he’s probably in for another #1 album and I reckon the single too since sales are quite low currently

And re style, would be cool for if to be reset but also high key hope it doesn’t and we wait for 1989tv. I doubt Taylor’s team would ask for it’s reset, though she might not control that with style since it’s with the old record label?

It's refreshing to have so much uncertainty about what's going to be at #1 over the next few weeks and the prospect of all sorts of things moving up the charts and getting new peaks as well. Really feels like there's actually a lot going on to discuss with the charts rather than just waiting for a song that's spent 9 weeks at the top to sod off or another week of a static top 5 etc...

When was the last time we were seriously discussing the chances of so many different artists scoring a #1 in the coming weeks?

Zane has said he didn’t actually say that.

We are simply coming to the end of the summer lul and the industry is setting itself up for the busy end of year!

Is it really going to be a busy end of the year when two out of four of those months are dominated by Christmas songs anyway?

There’ll be alot of big albums and singles out between now and November - the Christmas songs only dominate from mid November so that’s 5 chart weeks really. It only really affects the Christmas release schedule.

Just noticed that new Jazzy has been added to Hot Hits UK. Is that a new addition or has it been there a while? Looks like she’s on course for her 2nd hit!

^I saw it was there on Monday already but not sure if added this Monday or last Friday

too bad the Drake + A-list is a fake rumour it seems, for once I was excited about a Drake album instead of being desintersted

3rd! poor forgotten Make Me Feel Good.

I think these are also newly added a couple of random tracks yet to have impacted:

Wasia Project - ur so pretty

Laufey - From The Start

Laufey has been on HH for weeks now, but always at the very bottom sadly

the OCC didn't credit Jazzy on the Belters track (I think), did they?

Ah yes I forgot about Make Me Feel Good! Isn’t jazzy technically a member of belters only and these 2 songs are just her going solo?

no pretty sure Belters Only has always just been the two producers, Jazzy just happened to feature on both of their first two singles
Yes, I just had a google and indeed it is just the 2 producers, turns out jazzy is just really good friends with them both. Im here for her new single becoming a hit, it’s incredibly good and catchy, think I might even prefer it to giving me
