August 10, 20232 yr has he though? Apart from the Fun Wav eras which were obviously less commercial, I can't think of a single that hasn't smashed. Maybe there's been the odd top 20 hit rather than top 10 but definitely no flops. Nuh Ready Nuh Ready and Pray To God are obvious ones that spring to my mind as Calvin flops as a lead artist if we’re not taking into account the Funk WAV Bounces eras. Pray to God is still a boo, massive shame it wasn’t bigger chartwise.

August 10, 20232 yr But my point is, not even Calvin was expecting those songs to be huge smashes, whereas with the last couple of singles they're quite obviously more commercial, radio-friendly bangers that everyone is expecting big things from. August 10, 20232 yr Pray To God was more of an underperformance than a flop, it did quite well to even go top 40 as a post-album single and being not in Calvin's usual style, besides it sits on 177m streams on Spotify. Same for Over Now (The Weeknd collab), which sits on 186m Spotistreams. Obsessed and Nuh Ready were undeniably flops by his standards as neither cracked even 50m Spotistreams
