I know - I remember expecting it to completely bomb that week, so to see it get top 20 and not have a steep second week drop was a very pleasant surprise!

I think it’s probably too much of a licensing issue for that to happen as much as I’d love it too.

 

Dannii has released across so many labels (MCA, AATW, Avex, Mushroom, Warner, London, Ultra etc.,) - I think that’s one of the reasons THAB didn’t stay in print for long.

It's a pity something couldn't be sorted for a vinyl release, hits and beyond would be well worth buying on vinyl.

Hits and Beyond should have been an easy Top10. Hopefully they re-print it.

At the same I was sure it would go top 10 was generally speaking was disappointed with how it performed.

I don't see how it could have been expected to do any better than it did, by that point the momentum around Dannii had more or less evaporated.

 

It did really well to chart higher than the single.

^^ Honestly this, I think at the time most fans expected it to do very little, especially as Dannii has such an erratic album chart history.

 

I remember being over the moon it went Top 20, and then held onto a Top 25 place the following week!

I genuinely thought it was gonna chart at 30-something the day it was released.

So, I got to thinking earlier about how Dannii was supposedly due to have the Children In Need single in 2006 with 'He's The Greatest Dancer' before it went to Emma Bun Tin.

 

Was there ever any credible truth in that, or was it just tittle-tattle/rumours?

Definitely true - there are articles about it (wiki entry for what it’s worth)

 

Though the selection was recorded as the charity single for that year's Children in Need, it was dropped when Minogue pulled out of Strictly Come Dancing to work on rival TV show The X Factor. The single was replaced in favour of a cover of "Downtown" former Spice Girl Emma Bunton had performed.

Would love Dannii to do strictly!!!

It would be nice to see her on it but i cant see her doing it but i would love her to perform a hits a medley.
