I like it - definitely an album track, but agree Dannii never seemed to find her groove with all the label changes and when she did with ‘Neon Night’ the label London folded.

Yes with this, i think for me the lack of consistency with Dannii made it hard to fully buy into her, but with Neon Night she found her grove and it worked and she was connecting with the public in a way she hadnt really done so before with her music and unlucky for Dannii the label folded, had it not it would be interesting to see what would have came next from her.

Well here's one bit of proof that you are wrong, 'So Under Pressure' was never #9. It started off at #14 in the first update, #16 in the second update and #20 in the final chart. I remember with cry

^ really was it bad? Maybe streaming had a slight increase? 😉

Well, one of them didn't know the words, and the other was a sloppy lip sync.

23 years ago I Begin To Wonder was released, her highest chart peak but not her biggest seller, but probably regarded as her signature hit!

I can remember when the midweek position of 2 came in, we were all gagged!

Ahhhh, such a defining moment. It was around here I started to sit up and properly take notice of her, I then purchased Neon Nights and the rest was history.

I remember being surprised (but ecstatic) it did so well as I assumed it'd be lower top 10, and I wasn't expecting it to hold its #2 position for the final chart!

Will never forget the mids that week and the push for everyone to snap up extra copies!

I remember looking back on UKMIX for midweek information for Dannii. I remember posters guessing Put the Needle On It would debut higher than it did off the back of Who Do You Love Now so a lot of guesses for I Begin to Wonder were lower than it’s actual position.

First week sales weren’t that different tbf: 27k vs. 33k - just shows how much the market was changing in just a few months.

PTNOI was released in a very competitive week and no CD2 (really), there was two CDS but just remixes.

I remember Neon Nights was number 3 in the midweeks thoughtout the week , but fell to 8. While top 10 is amazing, we were all bummed it fell.

I think everyone was convinced it would stay top 5 and get Dannii her first top 5 album but sadly ended up matching her previous highest peak.

Same as these singles were in the top 5 during the week:

Put the needle on it was number 2

You wont forget about me was 3
So under pressure was was 9
Dont wanna lose this feeling was number 3

Cant remember the rest

Wow i don’t remember PTNOI being number 2 in the midweeks!

None of those are actually true. I know from memory 'You Won't Forget About Me' and 'Don't Wanna Lose This Feeling' were both #5 midweek, and there's no way 'So Under Pressure' was as high as #9.

I also looked up on UKMix and Neon Nights started at #5, but fell to #8 in the final chart.

Think it just shows the lack of care/ownership over her music - not helped by the fact she’s been with so many different labels and not actively pushed her music for years.

You are wrong. It was being discussed on the Danniimusic forum at the time thank you very much!

I remember with crystal clarity being gutted when 'You Won't Forget About Me' was midweek #5 after thinking it had a real shot at being her first potential #1.

'Perfection' was also midweek #8 and slipped out to #11 by the final chart, truth be told I'm still annoyed about that one.

11 is gutting when its an artist you really followed especially back then, now however, Dannii or Kylie getting number 11 hits would be classed as amazing.

The worst #11 was when Kylie blocked Dannii from getting her (at the time) 2nd Top 10 hit - Shocked entered at #10 while Success was on its 2nd of 3 weeks at #11!
