What do you think were the strangest music videos of the 00s/early 10s, and why?

 

Funny that the album review at the moment is Gorillaz, because Dare from that album with Shaun Ryder's floating head certainly stands out to me.

 

 

Also, The Avalanches' Frontier Psychiatrist which is altogether like a bizarre hallucination.

 

 

Natasha Bedingfield had a fair few too - the random babies popping up throughout in I Wanna Have Your Babies - although that song was odd all round.

There was also 'Fantasy' from Prince Rama which I sent to BJSC in 2017 and flopped with, perhaps not quite as throwback criteria based as 6 years now but still a bizarre video to say the least!

 

Who knew how iconic this look would become for Scooch? Shame it's only available in potato quality. The nun, the window cleaning, the innuendo :lol:

 

 

70s kids show imagery/puppetry meets naff Clubland early 00s Eurodance. Bizarre.

 

 

What was this all about from Robbie? For shock value only but it got people talking.

Some are saying this one is weird, is it? I did legit think the dancers were really doing that in the video at the time, never realised it was taken from a clip from a 90's show but with Coldplay playing for real in 2006 :o

 

 

 

Oh wait maybe I'm quite ignorant and didn't spot the presenters sporting late 80's style hair and clothes at the beginning :lol: a good track though from Coldplay!

For quite a tame, if lovely song, Nine Million Bicycles has a pretty weird video with Katie being dragged on the ground through various scenery for some reason, bringing along with her bits and pieces from the last scene (sand, water) into the next one :lol:

Frontier Psychiatrist is a great shout - wonderfully bonkers and the weird cousin of Daft Punks Around The World.

All of Bjork's videos are weird but often in serious or over-artistic ways ( certainly can leave the 'Utopia' videos well alone). This video of her and a cat husband is weird as hell but kooky and fun too.

 

 

 

 

I remember seeing “Hidden Place”’s video when I was a kid and it’s imprinted in my mind.

I just watched Tame Impala's 'The Less I Know The Better' and not sure if you'd call it genuis or weird or both haha!

 

I thought the animation in this was a bit strange.

I know we have the licking sledgehammer but this was part of Miley's 'Dead Petz' era which I didn't check out but haven't heard is remembered well lol. Odd video of her face with slimy junk dripping and her licking it!
