Also seasonality counts right? PP came out right in time for summer - Tension is coming at a time when summer is ending and perhaps people aren't streaming as much with return to work, return to school, etc.

Remember though, Padam was huge for a few weeks. Memes, Pride Playlits, Capital FM, USA coverage. It was everywhere and took off.

I am sure Radio 2 just played an extended Radio mix on Owain show, thevoutro was much longer, but I was half asleep lol.

Could be some service being late to report this week, right? More data may be missing compared to Padam.

Also the Audio streams may have been more premium for PP and less so Tension, especially the Spotify ones!

Just listened to Will Manning Capital catch up show yesterday. 6.31pm he describes us as having a Padam Padam summer then into Tension. It sounds very current and fits in so well with the current dance music.

I also personally we that people are not streaming 10 times a day as much as they where padaming haha, and didn't PP have all those Eurovision songs ro compete with in streaming. Tension I guess has Barbie songs plus a zillion Ed sheeran soon lol

So, who was the secret performer at the National Television thingy :michelle:
Padam took off virally majorly in the first couple of weeks from the Monday, so shot up the charts in ways in which Tensions just will not be doing, and people are going to be disappointed if they are expecting the same thing. It's going to be a much slower and more natural climb. But it's gathering the right kind of support so far and is on the right track to be a bigger hit than everything outside of Padam from the last decade anyway.

I'm getting the sense that Dannii was at the NTAs strutting to Troye's Rush

Out of the top 200 on Spotify which is to be expected.

Your move, Hot Hits x

Oh well, Tension may be gone from the Spotify chart for now, but at least Dannii was on NTA strutting on to Troye's Rush

Now now ........

Tension will added to more playlists on Thursday night /Friday morning I guess. She has the chart position this week confirmed and most likely it will be top 20.

Let's see what BMG tactics will be used next.

I heard Tension on BBC Radio 2 and Kiss this morning and Capital last night. Needs a bit of TV coverage somewhere

This is Dannii's fault for being at the NTA's, strutting to Troye's Rush, instead of being home streaming Tension, Padam Padam and 10 out of 10

I am nervous about Hot Hits, spotify can be...difficult when they want to be. The fact it's holding up so well on Apple is a really good sign though.

I don't think being number 30 on Hot hits is that influential than say being top of Massive Dance Hits etc or the one big dance playlists

Todays Top Hits is the biggie we all dream off.

Would they not have to drop PP from Hot hits to put Tension on realistically?

I’m not gonna get too excited about it’s prospects - Spotify have dragged their heels on Kylie even with the success of PP.

I’ll be over the moon with a 14-44 chart run tbh, it feels like Kylie getting a 2nd hit this era is a total unexpected bonus.

It’s also so difficult to get 2 consecutive ‘hits’ now (in terms of higher chart positions) so the fact Kylie is achieving it in 2023 even if it is a one week wonder is massive.

I think this is a huge success already. I legit was expecting top 75 for week one, but even without a physical CD it would end up likely top 40 is a dream result. Who of her contemporaries can say they scored two chart hits in a row in 2023?

The song is incredible and if it does climb and grab people as the weeks go on then that's great.

A return to the late 90s, did it again went 14 - 37 & Breathe went 14 - 33

At the time I was horrified with those peaks and drops - now I’d gladly take that for every release
